Georgia Quarterback Carson Beck Enters the Transfer Portal

Carson Beck

In a shocking turn of events, Georgia Quarterback Carson Beck has decided to opt out of the 2025 NFL Draft and enter the transfer portal. The Georgia QB had previously declared for the NFL Draft in November. He had a career-high 28 passing touchdowns during the regular season. Beck was a driving force behind the Georgia Bulldogs going 10-2 and advancing to the SEC Championship Game against the Texas Longhorns.

He suffered a UCL injury against Texas and was unable to finish the game or suit up when the Bulldogs faced the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week in the Sugar Bowl. He is arguably the best quarterback in the portal this cycle and will have many suitors as he surveys the college football landscape. Where will Beck play college football next season?

Carson Beck’s Possible Suitors

Once this news came down, the Miami Hurricanes were looked at as the front runner for the quarterback’s services. ESPN’s Pete Thamel said that while the Hurricanes are the frontrunner, the star quarterback is in no rush to decide while the college football season is still ongoing. It’s a strategic thing, not an emotional thing,Thamel reported.

Another possible suitor for Carson Beck is The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes are preparing to face Texas in the Cotton Bowl, but Quarterback Will Howard will be taking his talents to the NFL. The Oregon Ducks could also be in the running for the marquee quarterback. Oregon Head Coach Dan Lanning coached with the Bulldogs from 2018-2021 and that could give him a leg up in the Beck sweepstakes.

Final Thoughts

The quarterback will be focused on recovery and choosing the best landing spot for him as he plays his final year of college football this offseason. One team in the nation will get a proven commodity on their roster as Beck looks to improve his draft stock and win a College Football Playoff National Championship.
