New York Yankees Sensational Rookie Wins 2024 Rookie Of The Year

With the MLB awards season going around, the New York Yankees’ sensational rookie Luis Gil won the AL Rookie of the Year Award.  During the season, Gil had a solid season for the Yankees powered by a great first half of the season with a 10-5 record and a 3.17 ERA.

While Gil did have a weak second half of the season, he finished the season with a 15-7 record. Gil’s solid season rewarded him over other quality contenders for the award, but his great pitching outbid them all. The Yankees rookie did a solid job for the team during the first half of the season with a 9-1 record throughout the first three months. With a strong season over, the New York Yankees sensational rookie could be a star beyond 2024. How will he follow up a New York Yankees sensational season?

New York Yankees Sensational Rookie Season

During this long MLB offseason, the New York Yankees sensational rookie, Luis Gil won the rookie of the year. The Yankees rookie had a strong season with a 15-7 record in his first full season for “The Bronx Bombers.” While Gil struggled during the season, he was a solid rookie starter for the team. During the first three months, Gil was amazing with a 9-1 record.

While Gil had a great start, he struggled during the second half of the season with a 5-3 record. Gil was giving up home runs to hitters and struggled at times but proved to be a good rotation piece. This season was his first full season as a starter, and the New York Yankees sensational rookie had a great campaign. Even with his struggles in the postseason, the Yankees did a great job in limiting his mistakes. 

Gil after this season, could become a great rotation piece for the team if their ace Gerrit Cole gets hurt. Even with the disappointing ending to the season, the Yankees found a gem of a pitcher who could benefit the team for a long time.

Gil had a great start to the season, dominating hitters from the mound and becoming a fan favorite. The Yankees rookie also helped the team during the time that Cole was hurt and helped give them a great start to the season.

While Gil struggled during the second half of the season, he had given the team enough to win games over the Summer and Fall. While other rookies from the American League could have won it, Gil did enough to win the first-place votes. This award shows that Gil could be a future ace for the team and could lead them to another championship in the future.
