Jon Jones fought Ciryl Gane in UFC 285 for the first time in his title defense and completely dominated the fight in March 2023. This was the time when he defended his title against many other champions and at the same time became a two-division champion. He wanted to fight Stipe Miocic at that time as it was planned for November 2023 at Madison Square Garden in the Octagon at UFC 295. But their much-hyped match did not happen as Jones got injured. But now after a long time, we saw an incredible match of Jon Jones vs Miocic where we saw the old Jones knocking out Stipe in a brutal way.
President Trump at the Event
This event became even more special when President Trump appeared at the event alongside the biggest innovator, Elon Musk. The President had an interview with a UFC commentator a few weeks ago. Donald Trump bumped into Joe Rogan again at UFC 309. The two embraced each other with a big hug while exchanging some great words but because of the loud noises, fans could not hear their chat. Elon Musk, who campaigned for Trump and is now part of the effort to reduce government regulation, also greeted guests and his presence doubled the excitement of the evening.
The match was dominated by Jon Jones. As the match started Jones took down Miocic and started grappling. But after some grappling Bones started delivering some nast elbows that caught the audience’s attention. It was expected that Miocic would be able to free himself soon but Jones was on the top for a long time and surprisingly even after receiving many elbows and hard hits to the face Miocics still didn’t open. Round 1 wasn’t massively dominated by Jones.
Stipe Miocic’s Resistance Against Jon Jones
The second round started well for Miocic. He began to throw heavy punches at Jones but that didn’t do much help and Jon Jones was still standing. Miocic tried again and again but that wasn’t enough for Jones to be taken down.
Jones delivered some kicks to the legs to make up the distance, and Jones started to make hand contact and delivered some punches so that Miocic would focus on the upper body a lot that strategy worked for Jones and he was able to take the guard of Miocic to the upper body, leaving his lower body off guard. At last, Jones delivered a powerful kick to the stomach of Miocic, and in the next moment, we him Stipe on the ground Jones at last delivered some hammer punches to the head knocking him out brutally.
After that knockout, Jon Jones was in the middle of the ring doing a Donald Trump Dance, looking at Trump and appreciating his presence. He climbed the cage and appreciated the President through his gestures. In the next moment, we saw Joe Rogan in the ring with Jones. According to Bones, Miocic was a tough opponent. He fought like a terminator and his punches were hard to stand up against. After that Joe Rogan asked about his next fight and his next opponent or if he is deciding to retire. Jon Jones clarified at last that he is not going to retire and he is looking forward to going for a few more fights.
Last Moments
Instead of confirming that he is going to fight Tom Aspinall or Alex Pereira, he said that he loves and praises Jesus. He said that as far as his future in the Octagon is concerned, he is looking forward to giving the fans what they want, hinting towards the Tom Aspinall fight. But he didn’t confirm if it’s going to be Pereira or Aspinall, because that will be confirmed after negotiating with Dana White. At last, Jon Jones was appreciated again for being there.
On the other side, Stipe Miocic said to the medics that he was all right and didn’t need treatment. He was interviewed and he said that this was his last time in the Octagon and people wouldn’t see him again fighting. He was happy that it was over and the two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion said that he would go for retirement after this.
