Belal Muhammad Seriously Injured Before UFC 310
Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov were going to fight in UFC 310 at the beginning of 2025. Muhammad is the champion of his division and was going to defend his welterweight title against Shavkat Rakhmonov. The reason for Belal Muhammad withdrawing from the fight is a bone infection in his left foot. Muhammad said he would not exercise for the next six weeks. He will be receiving antibiotics and shared a picture of the affected toe on his foot.
Now we know that Muhammad is not going to take part in UFC 310 but the question arises who will be Rakhmonov fighting in UFC 310? It is not confirmed if they are going to fight after UFC 310 or not. It is also unclear whether Rakhmonov will fight in the upcoming UFC 310 or if a new fight will be introduced in the event.
UFC 310 Main Event
The main event of UFC 310 was the match of Belal Muhammad which will be canceled but the co-main event was Alexandre Pantoja fighting against Kai Asakura, who is defending the flyweight championship. The fight will take place at T-Mobile Arena and fans will probably see Alexandre Pantoja defend his flyweight title against Kai Asakura as the main event. On the other side, Muhammad can resume training in mid-December.
Belal Muhammad Wrote this on his Instagram account. “Caught a bone infection in my foot. Had to put a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line in my arm for IV antibiotics for the next six weeks with no physical activity. Allah’s plan is the best. I’m sorry to everyone that were coming to see me. I’ll be back soon. Inshallah.”
Conor McGregor against Belal Muhammad
Selecting a new fight for Rakhmonov is a high-stakes affair because if he loses, he may miss his shot at Belal Muhammad in a title fight. Rakhmonov has an 18-0(8 KO) record in MMA. His last fight was in December 2023 against Stephen Thompson at UFC 296. In August he said that the UFC had asked Muhammad to fight him for the title earlier this year and Muhammad rejected the proposed date for the fight in October arguing that he needed more time to train.
“The Notorious” Conor McGregor has trash-talked the Welterweight Champion, even before he was a champion. When Muhammad was injured, McGregor responded to him on Twitter with laughing emojis but then deleted the tweet. The two fighters rarely say anything nice to each other, but this time McGregor looked excited to disrespect Muhammad.
Final Thoughts
It seems like Conor McGregor is looking forward to having a big rivalry against Belal Muhammad because he also called him out for a fight a few weeks ago. But most importantly, McGregor should focus on his return to UFC and completing his contract of two fights. On the other side, we might see the famous African fighter, Kamaru Usman fight Shavkat Rakhmonov, as he is also one of the top contenders for the title.
