Jac Caglianone Shines As Royals’ Top Prospect This Fall
The Kansas City Royals are high on their future, and among the brightest stars in the farm system is going to shine this fall. Jac Caglianone, the talented two-way player who isn’t done playing baseball in 2024, is another piece of that future. A sixth overall draft choice, he will play in the Arizona Fall League. Jac Caglianone’s Bright Start to His Career
Jac Caglianone came straight out of the University of Florida when drafted in July. Many regard him as having some of the finest skills ever as a first baseman and as a lefty pitcher. And he has already staked his claim in the sport. This summer, he started with the Royals High-A team, in which he played 29 games. His batting statistics suggest wonderful signals: two home runs, and 14 RBI. Though he began badly, hitting just 241, he has loads of time ahead to do much better.
Caglianone will be one of nine Royals prospects in the Arizona Fall League, an elite league that plays from early October through mid-November. The league draws the best of the best and provides players with an outstanding chance to improve. He’s limited to first base in the minors, but fans should see plenty of him at that position in the AFL.
Working side-by-side with some of the best prospects of his generation, Caglianone will gain great experience. He is expected to see some time in the ballpark with members of the Astros and Guardians for Surprise Saguaros. There, he gets to learn as he accumulates most valuable experiences on the mound. His coaches will keep track of his performance, which he knows is all part of the deal.
Performance At The Plate
Though not going to pitch in the Fall League, Caglianone has proven that he can handle the mound. At Florida, he pitched 73.2 innings with 83 strikeouts. His 4.76 ERA shows he has room for improvement, but his ability to strike out batters is a great sign of life. Royals fans are eager to see how he develops as he concentrates on hitting now.
Well, the Royals have much to expect from Caglianone. Since the team already has Bobby Witt Jr. in the majors, it may just be Caglianone’s turn to shine. The team trusts him because this Fall League would play a great role in his performance. These field times would prepare him very well for what’s next to come in his career.
