Shandre Fritz, Michell Pereira, and GS Lakshmi—who has officiated T20 World Cup internationals since 2012—are the match officials. This varied group contributes a lot of experience to the competition in addition to reflecting a notable shift towards inclusivity. I wish them the best of luck as they oversee the world’s top women’s cricketers in what will be an exciting tournament for all involved,” the ICC Manager added.
Meet the Umpires
Ten teams, split into two groups of five, will compete in the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024. The reigning champions Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka are in Group A. Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the West Indies, and Scotland make Group B. The top two finishers from each group move on to the semifinals, with each team playing four group matches.
Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Stadium are two legendary locations that will host the competition. Pakistan versus Sri Lanka and Bangladesh versus Scotland will be the first matches played in Sharjah on October 3.
