Joe Rogan’s Shocking Reaction To UFC 309 Sphere by Jon Anik

Sean O'Malley

Joe Rogan has not been active in UFC commentary since UFC 303, but the UFC Noche was a premier event costing Dana White a whopping $20 million. Hence, they needed the legendary commentator Joe Rogan for this event.

The event’s highlight was Merab Dvalishvili retaining his bantamweight title by beating Sean O’Malley. Jon Anik reported about Joe Rogan that even he was shocked to see the big setup and the technology used in the sphere. As we all know Rogan has participated in every big event of UFC and has a lot of experience in different arenas but this one was something different.

UFC 306 was filled with entertaining fights and intriguing plots, but some were not satisfied with the performance of the event in general, especially regarding the expectations put into it. It was a big and memorable night for everyone who participated in it including the audience.

But Dana White has unfortunately announced that they are not going to have another event in UFC Noche Sphere because of several business reasons. Some fans have also said that they expected a lot more than this. But Jon Anik has a different opinion. He wants to give another try to the UFC Noche. He believes that UFC will have to face the problems at the beginning but eventually, they will solve these problems and have the best of all time.

Jon Anik said this in an interview with MMA Fighting. “And it sounds ungrateful to say, ‘Please give us another shot in there,’ but that’s all, I think, a lot of us kept feeling. It was just so amazing. I mean, Diego Lopes putting his hands in the air — my brother captured it — if there’s a coliseum behind him. Bro, it was absolutely unbelievable, start to finish, and I do think 10 fights is the right way to do it.

“I’d be fascinated to see how the UFC, and how our live production team would approach a second chance in there when it comes to fight card, and thematically what you would do, whether it was a celebration of the UFC, or as Daniel Cormier would like, the Stars and Stripes, but just incredible. Just incredible.”

Jon Anik About Future Events

Jon Anik was convinced by the fact that the technology of the Sphere could be updated and would play a big role in sports. This is the future of sports and eventually, this technology will be used in all of the sports so it’ll be better if UFC becomes one of the first to bring such revolution to its arena. As Jon Anik said in the interview. “So he’s seen it all, he’s a renaissance man, far more that than me. I still felt convicted in the fact that he would be effectively blown away, and yeah, just jaw-dropped, and ‘Oh my gosh,’ and sort of one visual upstage the one that came before it.”
