Arne Slot has provided an update concerning his team ahead of their home fixture against Bournemouth in the Premier League. The Dutchman in return called out for an improvement from his side, as they traveled to Milan.
The Reds gave a solid response in the Champions League, defeating AC Milan 3-1 at the San Siro. However, Arne Slot still wants another response this time in the League. Liverpool’s loss had been the first after playing three games and winning all three without conceding. Arne Slot will want his side to recover quickly to put his team in contention for the title race.

Arne Slot spoke about the Nottingham Forest game and reanalyzed his team’s flaws in the team. Slot called for his team not to only bounce back, but to show a level of Consistency when it matters the most. The Dutchman made a lot of reference to last season’s game in the Europa against Atlanta, referring to the team’s need to improve and be better.
He said: “That evidence I think they’ve shown for many games except for this one game which you just mentioned before [against] Nottingham Forest. But the pre-season and all the games we’ve played in the season until now I think they showed their quality and how well we can play.”
He added: “For me, it was not only about bouncing back after the loss against Nottingham Forest, it was also the last two years how we performed in Europe. We had some difficulties in the Champions League two years ago and last season when Atalanta came it was also a difficult moment.”
Slot on Good Football
The Dutchman also called for his side to continue displaying the good football they played against AC Milan. He clamored that it’s needed that Liverpool maintain the dominant Football they’ve always been known for. This is due to the fact that the standards are high for the team.
He said: “So, I think we had a point to prove and the standards were set high by so many Liverpool teams, but also by a few that are still playing in this team and we have to try to get back to those standards in this season. We made a good step against AC Milan.”
Slot added: “I think if you can play an away game in San Siro, the first game, not the result but the way we played, that shows that we are a very difficult team to beat but that we can also play really good football – dominating football – in another stadium than Anfield.”
What’s Ahead for Liverpool
The Reds will host Bournemouth at Anfield this Saturday. It’ll be a necessary win for Arne Slot’s side. The Dutchman will hope not to experience another disappointment. He said the last loss was due to the low block Forest played, and his team failed to beat around it.
However, he claimed he’d love to play another low block. With the high chances of Andoni Iraola’s side playing another low block, Arne Slot will hope his side can find answers to the defensive puzzles.
