Another came in again for them, ensuring their two-nil victory. Although there were a lot of questions surrounding the penalty decisions by the referee, the result has also prompted Carlo Ancelotti to feel his team didn’t deserve the win.

The Italian was very critical of his team’s performance in the game, he spoke thoroughly about the poor tactical prowess of his players all through the game. He also continued to speak about the injury challenges of his players. He spoke about Militao and Brahim Diaz, and he discussed the state of their fitness.
He said: “We didn’t have a good start. They pressed very well in our field and we didn’t always manage to find the free player. Militão has nothing. Brahim had an abductor discomfort and we will evaluate him tomorrow. I think the central defenders can rotate in the next matches. This was a match in which we lacked midfield and we had an emergency. In the next matches, we will have more players and we will be able to rotate more.”

The Italian also spoke about the form of his team. He affirmed that his team isn’t 100%, and finally spoke about the need for improvement. Especially, with numerous lists of fixtures ahead both in the La Liga and also in the Champions League.
He said: “They choose the penalties. They took the responsibility and it went very well. We are not at 100%, that’s normal, but the players are improving. We can talk about all the problems in the world with this match, but the important thing was to start well. We have to keep in mind that we are not at 100%. It’s normal, we don’t have four midfielders. I value very much the work of those who played.”

He is very dangerous and combines well with Vinícius and the strikers. He’s improving a lot. I liked his game a lot.”
Ancelotti finally added on the Penalty decisions: “I have no opinion on this. And I didn’t see the penalty. When the referee goes to the VAR he had no doubts.”
