After a successful event, the Las Vegas Golden Knights return from Mexico’s Fan Fest. Today, September 9th, 2024, the Golden Knights announced their American Fan Fest event scheduled for the sixth of October, just three days before their season opener against the Colorado Avalanche. The event hosts many events, with attendance from the Golden Knights’ mascot, Chance, the Vegas Vivas, the Knights Guard, and more.

Fan Fest returns on October 6, 2024, and will be held at The Lawn in Downtown Summerlin, Nevada.  The event is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT.  There are numerous activities to draw fans and families in, such as music, giveaways, Touch-a-Truck activation, and spectacular attendance from the Vegas Golden Knights brand. Just days before the Vegas opening night, or ‘Knight’, fans will have the opportunity to hear from the players, meet the Golden Knights Mascot (Chance), and watch the Vegas Vivas, and Knights Guard.

Golden Knights’ broadcasters, Team Manager Kelly McCrimmon and Head Coach Bruce Cassidy are also on Fan Fest’s roster. The event is also free and welcomes all people of all ages.  There is no shortage of crowds in Las Vegas, but this event has sparked the interest of many people and is projected to have an immense attendance. The VGK crew hopes to display the glitz and glam of the Las Vegas franchise and fire up the fan base for the nearly upon us season.

Golden Knights’ First Mexico Fan Fest

The Vegas Golden Knights flew south to further the VGK brand last weekend. The VGK held events for fans with the assistance of the Mexican Ice Hockey Federation,  Fundación Dr. Sonrisas, and Ice Hockey Workshops. The Fan Fest brought ice hockey and ball hockey clinics to  Metepec, Mexico City, and Monterrey. Some of the VGK personalities also attended: Chance, the Vegas Vivas, and the Knights Guard celebrated hockey with thousands of people south of the border.

Ice Hockey has grown exponentially in Mexico. The country has one outdoor rink and fourteen indoor ice rinks, so it is safe to say the hockey scene is here to stay. To further the point, the IIHF ranks the women’s national team of Mexico 25th in the world. In addition, the men’s team also ranks highly. Recent rumors of NHL preseason or exhibition games being set to play in Mexico City have surfaced.

In Conclusion

If the Las Vegas Golden Knights lack anything, they do not lack a dedicated fan base. Broadcasters mention season after season the sheer volume the VGK fans emit in the fortress. Arguably being one of the most die-hard fans in the NHL, this year’s Fan Fest will undoubtedly be a hit. With the recent addition of new Golden Knights fans in Mexico, we can speculate future games to be played there. Possibly, and eventually, a new Mexican-based NHL franchise.
