Vinicius Jr. has expressed his feelings over the management of racism-based challenges in Spanish football. The Real Madrid star has had a time where he was constantly targeted for racial abuse. And in response, he has always criticized Spanish football for poor mishandling of such offenses. Lately, the Brazilian claims that Spain should not be able to host the 2030 World Cup should they refuse to deal with the issue of racism.
Despite the off-pitch racial abuses Vincius Jr. has been facing in La Liga, the Madrid star has refused to allow it to influence his performance on the pitch negatively. So far, he is presently one of Madrid’s best forwards and also a strong contender for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. Even though the 24-year-old has proven the racial abuse has not influenced his game, he still hopes that Spain could do something to control such a terrible act.

The Brazilian has spoken about the challenges of Racism in Spain, He said: “I hope Spain can evolve and understand the seriousness of insulting someone because of their skin color. He continued further saying: “I believe and I want to do everything so that things can change because many people in Spain, the majority, are not racist, although there is a small group that ends up affecting the image of a country where people live very well.”
His Own Experiences
The Brazilian narrated an instance of his Racism experience, he referred back to the Valencia game, and he said: “In the case of what happened in Valencia, after the game – after we thought about it – everyone said the right thing to do is to leave the pitch, but as you are there defending a team, we know that not everyone in the stadium is racist and was just there to watch the game.”
He continued saying: “Today – maybe [some fans] are still racists – but nowadays they are afraid to express themselves in the football field, and in places where there are a lot of

Of course, we won’t be able to end it, but I’m already happy that I’m being able to change Spain’s mindset. In the club, we talk about it more often. Not just me, but all players said that if that happens, the next time everyone has to leave the field so that all of those people who insulted us have to pay a much bigger penalty.”
Vinicius Jr added: It’s always very difficult to end a game, but with everything that’s been happening, that each time is getting worse, we do need to leave the field so things can change as soon as possible.”
