The 42-year-old footballing icon has dismissed the possibility of becoming a coach shortly. He iterated the fact that he might not have the temperament to handle players’ wrongful displays off and on the pitch. The Swedish Ex Forward spoke when asked about his Coach career: “Impossible. During the game I would punch at least two players and after the game eight.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been known to be very stern and also comical at the same time in nature. This may be the reason he believes he doesn’t have enough temperament to handle the players playing for him.
Ibrahimovic on not Appointing Conte
Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is the advisor for AC Milan management has revealed why he didn’t prefer Antonio Conte to coach the AC Milan team. Conte who is now Napoli’s coach was a strong suggestion for the Milan side.
However, the Former Man United player had a different view then, which led to the appointment of Paulo Fonseca. Zlatan spoke about his reasons for not considering Conte he said: “Milan needs a coach, not a manager. We didn’t discuss Conte because with the criteria we had, he wasn’t what we were looking for, his name didn’t come up.” He continued saying: “Putting together all the factors we needed, his profile emerged, the one that best suited our needs. What convinced us about Fonseca was his ambition, and his desire to work, to do well. For us he is a top coach, otherwise, he wasn’t a Milan profile,” Ibra said.
Conte Eventually replied to him after being asked about the words of the Swede saying: “Ibrahimovic’s words? I respect everyone. He said he considers me more of a manager. I consider myself a manager, I want to have a say and maybe somewhere else that might have bothered people,”
Ibrahimovic on his Time as a Player
The 42-year-old spoke in an interaction with France Football concerning his time as a player, he said: “If you’re talking about intrinsic qualities, I have nothing less than them,” He continued saying: “If you look at the trophies, [then] yes I didn’t win the Champions League. But I don’t know how you calculate it. I’m not obsessed with it. Because when you do good things collectively, the individual follows. The individual cannot be good if the collective is not good,”
He asked about the Ballon d’Or awards, he said: “[Do] I miss the Ballon d’Or? No, it’s Ballon d’Or who misses me! Deep down, I think I’m the best in the world. I don’t think it’s relevant to compare players with each other. Everyone has played in their generation, with different teammates [it’s] difficult to compare. I think everyone has their story and should face it.”
