Welcome to Manchester United Joshua Zirkzee: £35.3M Done Deal

Manchester United can thankfully welcome new players to their squad to help them do much better than they did last season. Manchester performed awful in the 2023-2024 year, with them having to switch around their entire starting lineup due to injuries in the backline that saw Luke Shaw out, Harry Maguire miss games and Casemiro move to center back.

Therefore, Bruno Fernandes had no one to work with in the midfield, Mason Mount struggled, and Holland was their only option to try and score goals. They need to rebuild their squad in the off-season, bolster the energy, and revamp the mood in the clubhouse to succeed this year.

Hopefully, their new signing, Zirkzee, can do just that.

Joshua Zirkzee is one of the biggest signings in the transfer window this off-season for any league in the world, especially the Premier League. Zirkzee is headed to England, and his teammate, NDoye, could be on the way as well as part of a package deal.

So, why is Zirkzee so important for United? He began his youth career at VV Hekelingen and moved on to play at Spartaan ‘20, ADO Den Haag, Feyenoord, and Bayern Munich throughout his underage days. He impressed so much at Bayern that he moved up to Bayern Munich II and eventually the senior team, where he earned twelve caps and four goals.

He then went on loan to Parma and Anderlecht to get more first-team minutes, where he appeared in 38 games for Anderlecht and scored a whopping 16 goals, gaining the attention of numerous teams in Europe.

After two successful loan spells, Bologna realized his potential and signed him in 2022, where he made 53 appearances and scored 13 goals. Now, Manchester United could try and get Zirkzee from the Italian team so that he can bolster their scoring potential next year in the Prem.

United will have to fork over more than $43 million for the Dutch international if they want him to complete the move to Old Trafford and put pen to paper. Despite the hefty payment, United made a great business deal and opted to pay the transfer amount over three years for a higher fee, instead of needing to pay $35 million for the release clause at once.

Along with Zirkzee heading to Old Trafford, Manchester could also be after his teammate, Ndoye. Ndoye’s agent is keen to get a move underway and feels as if this English club could be the best option for his progression as a player.

It is good that Manchester United are interested in Dan, and it is somehow logical as well. United belong to INEOS, and Dan has already played for the other INEOS-owned clubs in Nice and Lausanne. He received countless WhatsApp messages from English clubs after the quarter-final against England. Let’s see what emerges from them.

However, one thing that could prevent Ndoye from joining Zirkzee is that the Bologna manager might not want to get rid of another player before their season begins. Manuel Minguzi, editor of a famous Italian magazine, gave the Manchester Evening News the inside scoop.

After Calafiori and Zirkzee, I don’t think Bologna will give up a third starter. The management would not want to give him up and Ndoye is liked by new coach Vincenzo Italiano. In any case we are talking about £25-30 million.
