New York Yankees Dynamic Duo Dominating League During 2024 Season

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees MVP

The 2024 New York Yankees are off to a red-hot start. A big reason for this is the duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto.

Judge and Soto have been lighting it up all season for the Bronx Bombers. They are 41-19 and have the best record in the American League. The Yankees were one of the most hyped up teams coming in the 2024 season with the addition of Soto.

The Yankees haven’t been to the World Series since 2009, which doesn’t sound like that long of a drought but this is an organization that is used to winning. They have 27 World Series championships, which is by far the most in the MLB. Going 15 years without a single World Series appearance is unacceptable by Yankee standards.

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are doing their best to get the Yankees back to the promised land. Will they be able to take them all the way?

The Aaron Judge and Juan Soto combination in the Yankee lineup has been lethal. It is the start of June and already these two have combined for 35 home runs and 94 RBI. In last night’s win over the Giants, Judge hit 2 home runs and Soto added a double. And while I am writing this on Saturday night, Aaron Judge has already hit another home run so make it 36 total. If you’re a pitcher facing this lineup, good luck.

Judge signed a 9-year $360 million contract with the Yankees last offseason, so barring a trade, he will be launching home runs in the pinstripes until at least 2031. Then there is Juan Soto. Soto just has a 1-year $30 million dollar deal with New York, and you best believe his price tag is going up with every big hit.

When you add players like Anthony Volpe, Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton to go along with Judge and Soto, your team is going to score a whole lot of runs. That’s exactly what the Yankees have done. Not only are they the top team in the AL, but they also have the best run differential across the whole MLB. Domination.

Finally the Yankees Year?

It’s been 15 years since the Yanks last appeared in a World Series. It would be hard to find another 15-year stretch in franchise history that didn’t at least result in an American League Pennant. It has not been because of a lack of spending or talent.

The New York Yankees are one of the richest franchises across all sports, and their front office spends money like it. It’s why as a Yankee fan, it must be so frustrating to see your team getting bounced from the playoffs in the first or second round every single season.

Maybe this will be the year they get it done. Their pitching staff is dramatically improved to go along with their already explosive lineup. Their current record of 41-19 is without reigning AL CY Young Winner Gerrit Cole. Cole was injured days before the season started and is currently closing in on some rehab starts. Adding Cole alongside this much-improved Yankee pitching staff will give New York as good a shot as they’ve had in recent memory to make noise in October.
