PSG Called Out Fake News of €250M Bid for Lamine Yamal

One of the stand-out players of the Euro 2024 tournament is currently being sought after by multiple clubs in Europe. Yamal, the young 16-year-old who has shocked viewers since the first day he stepped onto the world stage, is among the best players at the international tournament in Germany, despite being only a teenager.

He has assisted key goals for Spain, taken players on 1v1 on the dribble, and not shown the slightest chance of slowing down. For such a young player, he has incredible confidence, technical ability, and tactical awareness that makes him one of the most elite footballers currently in the game.

So, who will snap him up for their season next year? PSG has something to say about it.

Yamal has stood out in the Euros so far, and not just because he is arguably the youngest player to get significant minutes on the pitch this tournament. No, his technical and tactical ability are unmatched and he has been a key player for Spain, who find themselves in the final match against England this week.

Because of his incredible skills at such a young age, many clubs are interested in signing the teenager for the foreseeable future. Reports even emerged earlier this week that Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 in France was extremely interested in purchasing Yamal from Barcelona to replace Mbappe, the ultra-fast winger who has made a move to Real Madrid in La Liga.

It was initially said that PSG had contacted Yamal’s agent, as he is too young to go through at this stage. Jorge Mendes, Jamal’s go-between, spoke with MSG about the possibility of switching to the Parisian club instead of staying with the Catalan side for next season. Plus, the other rumor that has been swirling around the transfer window is the fact that PSG reportedly offered upwards of $260 million for the youngster — but Barca denied them.

However, PSG has made it known that they deny this rumor vehemently. They could just be denying the rumor to save face, or they could be shutting down a lie that has been circulating in the footballing world. Either way, they are trying to save face by saying ‘it is not true’ to all news sources and reporters.

Yamal Could go to PSG from Barcelona

Even though they denied the astronomical transfer fee that people claim they have offered for Yamal, Yamal could still make his way to PSG from Spain next season. This isn’t the first time that links have been established between the Ligue 1 team and Yamal’s agent, as the Barca president has noted in recent months.

Barca president, Joan Laporta, has made it known that PSG has offered $200+ million for the striker from Spain, but Barcelona continually rejects PSG’s offer for a transfer. Although PSG was never directly mentioned as the team offering this amount of money, fans can speculate that the French side has been trying to sign Yamal for some time now.

Despite the huge offer, Barcelona are not worried — they offered him a new contract that sees him stay at the club until 2026, featuring a $1 billion release clause. We are certain that no club is going to be able to pay that fee for a 16-year-old without getting some serious flack in the footballing world.
