The famous WWE Bad Blood event has returned after a 20-year break, as it was last held in 2004. The event featured several interesting matches and rivalries. One of the instant classics was the intense match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, a “Hell in a Cell” match.
WWE Bad Blood took place in Atlanta, Georgia. Overall, there were five significant matches, most of which continued rivalries from Bash in Berlin. This would also be Roman Reigns’ first live primer event after his return so that he could reclaim his Ula Fala and help Rhodes against the Bloodline.
Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan
Given that Liv Morgan’s most recent matches against Rhea Ripley have been heavily influenced by interference from Dominik Mysterio, he was forced to be locked in a shark cage this time to avoid interference. The bell rang, and the match started. Ripley dominated most of the match, but things changed when Mysterio somehow opened the shark cage.
Ripley gave her attention to Mysterio and lost her focus on Morgan. However, at this stage of the match, WWE had a surprise for fans. The WWE star Raquel Rodriguez made her comeback and started beating Ripley because of her previous rivalry with her. Liv Morgan was disqualified, and the title remained with the Judgement Day.
Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor
The rivalry between Finn Balor and Damian Priest also continued as their team members were also going to face each other. The match started, and Finn Balor started using his tricks, but none of his tricks were going to beat the giant priest. Priest’s imposing size prevented Balor from accomplishing much.
Eventually, Priest was going to win, but the other members of the Judgement Day interfered as always. Now, Balor also started to show his moves, which caused many fans to think Balor would win, but soon, The Archer of Infamy dodged a few of Balor’s moves. Despite Carlito and McDonagh providing illegal assistance for Balor, they couldn’t defeat Priest. Even considering the outside interference, Priest won the match relatively easily.
A WWE Rivalry Ends
As previously stated, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk produced an instant classic. This match was promised to be one of the most brutal and violent matches in the history of this rivalry, given that this would be the final match between the two wrestlers. The steel cage ring was set, and the match started. Both men suffered from a lot of pain, and because of the brutal moves, they also started bleeding.
McIntyre and Punk displayed the true meaning of violence and rivalry as WWE executives wanted a contest between two men who hated each other. Despite McIntyre having the size advantage, he did not win. The Voice of the Voiceless slowly dominated the match and won. Punk will now face Gunther, WWE Heavyweight Champion, launching a new rivalry. The first match between the two is likely to occur at one of WWE’s prominent events.
Final Thoughts
The rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre ended after all the brutal matches. Now, Punk will be able to go back to his home and live with his wife peacefully. He used to live in a hotel after McIntyre broke his bracelet, for which he had a deep emotional attachment to it.
Ripley and Morgan will continue their rivalry as the title remains with Morgan, and The Terror Twins won’t tolerate this. We may see a big match in the future between Judgement Day and ‘Terror Twins accompanied by Jey Uso. What are your thoughts about the Bad Blood event?
