T20 World Champions Led by Rohit Sharma Meet Prime Minister Modi

Rohit Sharma’s T20 World Cup champions greet Prime Minister Modi at his residence before flying to Mumbai for another round of festivities.

The T20 World Cup 2024 gala showcasing the Indian squad arrived at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s doorstep on Thursday.

The Indian team, which arrived in New Delhi at 6:00 a.m., refreshed in the ITC Maurya Hotel before taking the team bus to PM Modi’s residence.

Following a lavish welcome, the Rohit Sharma-led team gave a quick dance performance at the hotel. Not long after, the players, led by Rohit Sharma, cut a special cake at the hotel before leaving for their meeting with the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister of India called the Men in Blue after the World Cup final last Saturday to congratulate them on their success. According to the program, the Indian team would have breakfast with PM Modi.

India’s T20 World Cup champions were met by thrilled supporters and hailed by a beaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a private event on Thursday.

The players are allegedly scheduled to fly to Mumbai at 2:00 PM for an open bus procession. BCCI secretary Jay Shah and team captain Rohit Sharma took to social media on Wednesday, urging fans to turn out in huge numbers to express their support for the team.

The fans’ excitement is apparent as they look forward to celebrating the team’s recent victories. Local authorities are working with event organizers to make sure the event runs smoothly and safely.

Roads around the procession route will be closed, and additional public transportation will be available to accommodate the large number of supporters. The march will end at a central area with a platform built up for the players to address their fans.

Music, dancing performances, and other entertainment acts are planned to keep the audience entertained while they wait. The excitement around the event reflects the team’s and supporters’ close affinity, as well as the nation’s pride in their sports heroes.

It would be a memorable moment for Rohit Sharma, a 37-year-old Mumbai native and a great fan favorite in the city.

A similar roadshow was held in Mumbai 17 years ago, following Dhoni’s team’s victory against arch-rivals Pakistan in the inaugural 2007 World T20 in South Africa.  Tired yet joyful, they waved and smiled heartily to the waiting supporters.

Suryakumar, who made the amazing match-winning catch of David Miller in the final, was the most enthusiastic in his reaction to the cheering.

Pant, who had recently returned to international cricket following a life-threatening car accident, applauded the audience, while pacer Mohammed Siraj blew flying kisses in their direction.

Rohit Sharma and Player of the Final Kohli, who both retired from T20Is at the conclusion of India’s campaign, were among the last to leave the VIP area.

Rohit presented the prized trophy for spectators to see before they boarded the bus. Kohli, for his part, offered a thumbs up in appreciation for the support.

Some admirers claimed to have been waiting outside the airport since the previous night, ecstatic to see their favorites in person.

“We’ve been here since last night.” It was critical for us to win this World Cup after losing the ODI World Cup the previous year,” a group of fans stated.

On Saturday, the squad won the country’s second T20 world title, breaking an 11-year ICC trophy drought. India’s previous ICC victory came in 2013 when it won the Champions Trophy under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
