Another bone of contention for Stubbs was with Coco Gauff’s coach. She felt that the latter made the big mistake of being very vocal about tactics with Gauff during the match. According to her, that might have been an easy way for Navarro’s team to decode their game plan. In big-point games, such strategic aspects make all the difference. However, she took a more critical view of Coco Gauff’s technique, particularly her serve. There are some issues there with the low elbow, and she also has quite an unusual grip, she explained.
Defending Gauff’s Potential
Despite this, hope is not lost for Coco Gauff. She is still very talented and has much promise if she can make adjustments. The things she will need to continue working on for future events are her service and mental toughness. The tennis community will be keeping a close eye on what happens with her.
