Chelsea Gains Victory Over West Ham
West Ham sought a win in today’s match to move up the Premier League table. However, their dreams were squashed when Nicolas Jackson scored a goal as early as the fourth minute. Jadon Sancho proved his worth again, providing Jackson with a stunning assist. Of course, West Ham held on to the possibility of winning the match. However, the team’s morale was reduced when Jackson scored yet another goal just 14 minutes later. The Senegalese striker made good use of Moises Caicedo’s assist.
The Hammers had a chance to win a penalty in the 30th minute when Summerville tried to capitalize on his contact with Fofana. However, the referee called against it, and his decision was backed by VAR. Less than five minutes later, Kudus got the ball to the back of the net, but sadly, he was blatantly offside.
Chelsea was handed its first yellow card in the 45th minute when Fofana went head-to-head against Summerville again. The first half of the match ended with the Blues leading with two goals. In the 47th minute, Chelsea blessed the audience with another goal from Cole Palmer, who got the ball from Jackson. West Ham received not one but two yellow cards thanks to the attempted fouls of Alvarez and Soucek.
Enzo Maresca made the call to take out Fofana and Sancho and bring in Disasi and Neto in the 57th minute. A few minutes later, Palmer and Jackson were taken off the pitch, and Felix and Nkunku came onboard the court. Right off the bat, Felix had the chance to score a goal for the Blues but missed his shot. Cucurella earned a yellow card trying to stop West Ham from scoring a corner kick in the 72nd minute.
Feeling left out, West Ham received a yellow card just five minutes later by Kilman, who chopped down Felix. In the 83rd minute, Antonio received a Yellow. Enzo Maresca missed the company of his namesake, Enzo Fernandez, and decided to bring him off the pitch in the 84th minute, substituting him with Dewsbury-Hall. Soler got his share of yellow cards in the 90+2 minute. The match ended with West Ham booed out of the London Stadium.
