India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, celebrated the T20 World Cup triumph with his family shortly after arriving in Delhi on Thursday morning.
The Men in Blue lifted the famous T20 World Cup trophy for the second time, defeating South Africa by seven runs in Barbados on Saturday. Kohli has declared his retirement from cricket’s shortest format.
Kohli came up when it meant the most, hitting 76 in 59 balls with six fours and two sixes. His runs had a strike rate of 128.81. Virat Kohli finished the edition with 151 runs in eight innings at an average of 18.87 and a strike rate of 112.68, including one fifty.

Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, came to her official Instagram account to post photos of the staunch India batter enjoying the triumph with his niece.
Anushka Sharma, an actor and Virat Kohli’s wife, also liked the Instagram photographs. “Celebrating the win, SUPER PROUD,” Bhawna Kohli Dhingra said on Instagram.
The Indian team that won the T20 World Cup arrived in Delhi this morning with a rapturous greeting from fans eager to see their favorite heroes and the trophy.
The squad members, support personnel, their families, and the media were stranded in Barbados. They had been devastated by Hurricane Beryl, a category four hurricane that raced over the island, closing Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown for three days.

Fans gathered outside Delhi Airport and ITC Maurya on Thursday morning to see their favorite players. Crowds yelled “India, India” as they arrived in New Delhi from the Caribbean.
The players, coaches, support staff, and other personnel were scheduled to fly to the United States from Barbados and then to India via the UAE. However, Barbados has been on high alert owing to the possibility of Hurricane Beryl since June 30.
After a two-day delay, the BCCI scheduled a chartered airplane for the whole squad and their families to fly home together. Along with the Indian delegation, India’s media professionals were stuck and provided a special chartered flight from Barbados to Delhi.
According to sources, PM Modi will meet with the World Cup champions at 11 a.m. in Delhi. In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 finals, India defeated South Africa’s Aiden Markram by seven runs on June 29 in Barbados. Virat Kohli was the ‘Man of the Match’.
