Vincent Kompany Silent Statement as Bayern Hits 6 Goals in 2nd Half

Vincent Kompany’s side annihilate Dynamo Zagreb in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich won 9-2, thanks to Goals from Harry Kane, Sane, Goretzka, Olise, and Guerreiro. Harry Kane had four goals to his name, while Olise had a brace, and the rest had a goal a piece. Vincent Kompany was very happy with his team’s display and believes it’s the beginning of greater heights.

The Belgian had earlier said prior to the game, that he wanted Bayern Munich to become a feared team like it used to be in the past. The 9-2 win from his boys, gave off the energy he would have wanted. In the post-match interview, he also addressed the issues of people doubting his potential to manage the club.

Vincent Kompany coached Burnley last season in the Premier League, however, his team was relegated to the 2nd division. When the Belgian was called upon for the Bayern role, a lot of questions were thrown at his ability to handle such a role. This is especially due to his struggles at coaching Burnley.

However, prior to Burnley’s involvement in the EPL, he won the 2nd division league cup for them. Which indicated the potential he had of delivering great results for any team. So far the signs are already showing in the Bayern team.

Vincent Kompany on Criticism

Kompany after the 9-2 win address on to address criticism after the game. He said: “I’ll tell you something in a quick way just to prove a point,” the former City defender said post-match, having been asked about critics who claimed that the job was ‘too big’ for him.”

The Belgian spoke a bit about his history, talking about his childhood and how he grew up in Belgium. He also made references to his roots. He said: “I was born in Brussels, my dad was a refugee who came from Congo. What are my chances of even playing in the Premier League, winning something as a player, and playing for the national team? The odds were 0.000 something.”

Kompany Continued on His Critics

Kompany spoke about his mentality, as he focuses his attention away from criticism, as he tries to achieve his goal, he said: “Now I’m a coach, do you just stop believing in yourself and what you can achieve because of what other people say? The mentality is to keep going and in the end, if you fail, you fail [and] if you succeed, you succeed. But you can always become better.

The Bayern Munich coach proceeded to say, that the online criticism doesn’t move him, and he specified he doesn’t take it personally. Kompany said: “Online you can always find stuff [criticism] so I really don’t take it personal. What am I supposed to do? Stop because of what other people think? Let’s encourage people to succeed and break barriers.”
