The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested over the weekend for a DUI charge in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and has had a troublesome offseason off the field as a professional.
Last summer, the talented pass catcher agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor speeding charge. His reckless driving charge was dismissed, as Addison paid off $686 in fines.
This incident was just five days after a Maryland car accident took the lives of his teammate, Khyree Jackson, and two others.

According to Luca Evans of the Los Angeles Daily News, the former USC Trojans wide receiver was arrested near LAX and was caught sleeping at the wheel on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities stated on Sunday that his car was flagged on Friday by the California Highway Patrol, as his white Rolls-Royce was blocking a lane on the freeway.
The breakout star Jordan Addison was asleep at the wheel when police officers arrived, according to the arrest report gathered by the Southern California News Group. He was released Saturday, 1:36 a.m. after the DUI investigation was complete at the time of the arrest, which was at approximately 11:36 p.m.
No comment has been made by Addison or his agent Timothy Younger when emailed seeking a comment the day after the arrest on Sunday. He was at the premiere of Netflix’s Receiver series that involved his fellow teammate Justin Jefferson, who got a historic extension this offseason from the Minnesota Vikings.
Former First Rounder Records Second Driving Offense
Jordan Addison was caught for speeding and reckless driving in Minnesota last July before training camp, making this his second driving offense already in the NFL. He was reportedly driving in his Lamborghini Urus at 140 mph in a 55 mph zone due to a “dog emergency”.
The Vikings former first-round pick from 2023 had a productive rookie season, being about 100 yards shy of 1,000 yards on 70 catches and 10 touchdowns. The former Pittsburgh Panther won the Biletnikoff Award in college for being the nation’s best wide receiver in 2021 before he transferred.
He is slated as the number-two receiver like last year with veteran Kirk Cousins, now catching passes from rookie top-ten quarterback J.J. McCarthy in Minnesota. This is a terrible look for Jordan Addison, as Khyree Jackson passed away from a drunk driving accident last week. The Vikings are now aware of the situation and are gathering more details.
