Victory+ Might Be a New Way to Watch Dallas Mavericks

Dallas Mavericks

Victory+ might be a new way for fans to watch the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. Victory+ is a new way for fans to watch the NHL’s Dallas Stars. Victory+ is a free streaming service created for Stars fans to watch regional home and away games.

But the Stars aren’t the only NHL team on the Victory+ app. On August 27, 2024, the Anaheim Ducks announced that they’ll broadcast their locally available games on the Victory+ app. Here’s what you need to know about the possibility of Mavericks fans using Victory+ to stream the Mavericks’ games ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Bally Sports Southwest vs. Victory+

Dallas Mavericks

On August 23, 2024, the Dallas Mavericks announced that they’d be dropping out of their current contract with Bally Sports, which was set to expire after the 2029-2030 NBA season, according to the Dallas Observer.

But the Mavericks’ inevitable move was reportedly made possible due to the sad truth that the Diamond Sports Group, the parent company of the Bally Sports regional networks, has been struggling with significant financial struggles for several years and counting. The defending World Series champion Texas Rangers are still being broadcasted on Bally Sports Southwest for the time being. The Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games for their first-ever World Series championship at Chase Field on November 1, 2023. Corey Seager won the World Series MVP award.

Victory+ Can Provide Optimism

The Victory+ Sports Network, stylized as VICTORY+, is an over-the-top streaming venture created by the NHL’s Dallas Stars, who reportedly wanted to bring their games to the local fans for free. However, VICTORY+ can provide optimism to Dallas Mavericks fans, as some cable providers (i.e. Frontier, Hulu, and YouTube TV) haven’t carried Bally Sports Southwest for a long time. Mavericks fans might’ve had to rely on a VPN to watch the Mavericks’ games similar to how they’d access adult films.

Victory+ Can Help Dallas Mavericks Fans

Victory+ can help Dallas Mavericks fans in the short and long term.

Dallas-Fort Worth, one of the biggest American metropolitan areas in the United States, has been struggling with a seemingly hapless sports television landscape. Dallas sports fans might’ve taken sports television for granted, but traditional cable television has become a guessing game and one of the top casualties as an unfortunate result of the streaming service wars.

The Mavericks arguably have one of the most popular fanbases in the NBA. But the fact that the Mavericks are in limbo can affect old and new fans, as the Mavericks’ presence is key for short- and long-term success in more ways than one.
