Valentino Rossi Made a Mistake Antagonizing Marc Marquez In 2015

Valentino Rossi reflects on past behavior.

Former crew chief Jorge Lorenzo explains that Rossi’s aggression during the 2015 season toward Marc Marquez was a big mistake. Ramon Forcada was an important part of Lorenzo’s three MotoGP Titles, including the 2015 title, and said he felt that Valentino Rossi’s psychological strategies to unsettle Marquez in one of the copies Motogp was a foolish mistake on the part of the legend.

Valentino Rossi’s History Of Psychological Warfare

More and more often, analyzing fights and completing his matches, fans, and experts could note that Valentino Rossi always used psychological tirades against his rivals. Ramon Forcada describes the maneuver as promising, a strategy that has served Rossi well against many of his rivals. Although, the latter is referred to as a manipulator in the best sense of the term. Forcada notes that this was a legal and very effective method that he used more often than not to outcompete his competitors on the racing circuit.

Rossi’s mind games have time and again paid off where he has diagnosed and outwitted many rivals. That is why, according to Forcada, the mistake was made when Valentino Rossi decided to take on Marc Marquez during the season 2015.

The 2015 Mistake: Underestimating Marc Marquez

According to Forcada, Valentino Rossi was wrong in underestimating Marquez’s mindset; the rider refused to give up. The nine-time World Champion had made many riders before uncomfortable in their leather suits but not with Marquez.

Instead, Forcada believes that he should have handled Marquez differently. Instead of making this man an enemy, Rossi could have perhaps chosen to be an ally. He was young, and fast and had nothing to lose in 2015, he was the wrong opponent to provoke.

Valentino Rossi’s Continued Remarks On 2015

“It’s impossible to understand what Valentino is thinking of achieving with these words, I don’t think they serve to take pressure off his [riders].”

Whether his comments are an attempt at reigniting old rivalries or simply a reflection of unresolved issues from that season, Forcada believes that the tactic of psychological warfare may no longer be as effective as it once was.

Final Thoughts

According to Ramon Forcada, who is his aide, he could have made a blunder when he provoked Marc Marquez in 2015. Whereas he had timed his psychological warfare to perfection in the past Marquez was too tenacious. The fact that mud-slinging continues to be prevalent in today’s society are signs that he still has some unpaid scores to settle with that season, but Forcada doubts it.
