Ex-MotoGP competitor Alex Barros recently disclosed that Valentino Rossi has fully endorsed Francesco Bagnaia as he gears for the tussle of his life against Marc Marquez in 2025. The relationship between the current MotoGP world champion Bagnaia and the six-time premier class champion Marquez is expected to turn sour as the latter moves to the factory Ducati team next year.
The Ducati Dilemma
It was a surprise moment for fans when Marc Marquez joined the MotoGP fraternity particularly disappointing to the VR46 camp which will be deprived of having their protege promoting Jorge Martin to the factory team. This decision has reopened the hostile rivalry as Valentino Rossi and Marquez were known to have had animosities traceable to the racing track animosities.
During a conversation at the beginning of that year at the Sao Paulo meeting of the World Endurance Championship Barros was able to discuss with Valentino Rossi was in favor of supporting Francesco Bagnaia. In the words of Barros, Rossi is now ready to do ‘whatever it takes’ to assist Bagnaia in this tough season as the latter from Italy expects to have this kind of season. Barros also agrees with the notion of the friendly appearances between Bagnaia and Marquez, however, they are not friends at all mainly because of Rossi and the past between Marquez and Rossi. Barros believes that any rivalry between Bagnaia and Marquez may affect Ducati in a big way and leave them in a better position for their competitors. He said that if Marquez, who is known to be an aggressive rider, starts to overtake Bagnaia during the initial stages of the season it will create weakness and division within the team.

Barros comments that the challenge awaits the Italian firm. Ducati will simultaneously manage two premier riders, namely Bagnaia and Marquez. Though it may not look like a big deal to the outside world fans. But realistically it can potentially bring a huge amount of instability in the unity of the team and can chase down Ducati’s performance. It can further cause disharmony in the team and its performance.
