The USC Trojans Football program will include the services of the top quarterback and overall player sooner than expected. Buckle up for anyone hoping that life without Caleb Williams would be difficult, but Julian Lewis is on the way!
USC Trojans Football Bridge To Success
Life after the Heisman winner is looking increasingly acceptable for Lincoln Riley. According to a report from Chad Simmons of On3 Sports, Julian Lewis will be reclassifying from the 2026 high school draft class to the 2025 high school draft class. Nicknamed ‘Juju,’ Lewis will compete in the upcoming season in Georgia but looks to start his collegiate career a year early.
As the top player being graded out of the class and the best-evaluated quarterback, he faced a late push from his in-state school to play for them. But that will no longer be a concern.
While commitments remain a fluid situation, it appears to be more of a guarantee now. Lewis will take the field in 2025 as a USC Trojans Football team member. And there is little question of why. This decision appears to be based entirely on wanting to learn from Coach Riley.
At the end of the day, it is about what Coach Riley does with quarterbacks.
Being a top player often means having top-level aspirations. The USC Trojans Football program has a history of success. And players under the umbrella of the Lincoln academy tend to fare well. While nothing is a guarantee, it’s hard to see a scenario where his potential will remain untapped.
USC Trojans Football Path
For Lewis, it has been a story of success that he will look to continue.
As a sophomore, he threw for 3,094 yards while only throwing two picks. One of his more impressive games for Carrollton came in a 54-14 win over Harrison. During the opening playoff game, Juju threw for 435 yards and seven, yes, seven touchdowns!
Many quarterbacks can put up great stats in high school, but it is how he is amassing his numbers. His ability and maturity at this stage in his young career are impressive. It’s easy to see why Riley wanted him to come to the USC Trojans Football facilities as soon as possible!
Juju has exactly what the USC Trojans Football team is looking for! He possesses great throwing technique and footwork, able to deliver balls all over the field. It will surely be a natural fit with Coach Riley, and any throw looks possible with Lewis under center. His pocket awareness and willingness to take deep shots will prove successful for a school that is never short on wide receiver talent.
New Big Ten Home
Of course, this USC Trojans Football team will face an interesting challenge this year. They will face new competition this upcoming season. Some are understandably skeptical.
With the focus on the air-raid offense, the defense has been a noticeable concern. Critics will continue to question if this style of team will be able to compete in the Big Ten. Contending teams in this conference need to play strong defense and be able to run the ball.
That being said, the ability to take the top off of opposing coverages at any point will always be a useful addition for any team. The former Pac-12 team has made it known that they will look for others to adjust to their style of play. Whether it’s a stubborn transition or a new era in the BIG, excitement and USC remain synonymous.
While it is too early to project or cement any legacy or predictions, this is a recruiting win. Having Lewis in the USC Trojans Football program allows for energy surrounding the team. Even if the upcoming year does not breed success, this team will be a renewed force to be recognized in 2025.
