The Los Angeles Clippers are receiving welcome news. Yes, their main concern is getting healthy and getting a good run of games in. But getting healthy now while there are a couple of regular-season games left is vital for this Clippers group. Especially with some of the postseason woes and injury history, any good news or anything to affirm their potential is needed and welcomed at this point. There is no question that this can be a good team. But questions and concerns will remain until this Clippers team is able to prove in the postseason that they can find and achieve higher levels of success.
But is this team going to actually come out of the West in the playoffs, in your opinion?
Welcome Return For Los Angeles Clippers
According to a team report, Russell Westbrook will play Monday night against the Indiana Pacers. This is a Clippers team that looked strong but was unable to get enough momentum together as of late. Therefore, a lot of the main issues and concerns that plagued the preseason are coming back. Unquestioned, this team has a lot of talent, but putting it together and seeing if these pieces are going to be able to put a cohesive run together remains a mystery.

However, it’s unknown if Westbrook’s return is going to be enough and if he will be fully healthy after his hand surgery. Mark Medina, a sports writer for multiple outlets and a personality on Fox Sports Radio, was one of the first to report that Westbrook would be available. But the initial news came from coach Ty Lou.
Needed At The Right Time For the Los Angeles Clippers
As stated, this Clippers team needed a boost, and this news is coming at the right time. While they won twice in the last three games, those wins were against the Portland Trail Blazers. Furthermore, outside of the Portland games, they are one and five in their last six games outside of their two-game Portland stint. In other words, this has not been a cohesive group, and it appears that this Los Angeles Clippers team missed Westbrook more than many would have initially believed.
Considering all of the criticism that Westbrook has received, this has been hard for some fans to accept. Furthermore, a lot of the blame and criticism surrounding Westbrook’s more recent years appeared to be overblown. He continues to show that he can be a highly productive player in this league and that he doesn’t necessarily need to be as ball-dominant as he was in, say, his Oklahoma City prime years, for example.
Los Angeles Clippers Strong Finish Needed
They cannot afford to lose to the Indiana Pacers. Additionally, they have a relatively favorable schedule to close out the year. Their next games include the 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Utah Jazz, and what could still be a hobbled Cleveland Cavaliers team. Therefore, there aren’t many games that they can necessarily afford to lose if they want to keep their standing, but as stated, Westbrook’s return can only help the Los Angeles Clippers.
