Pakistan’s white-ball cricket teams heading into the T20I assignment next year with Babar Azam as the captain of the Pak team is now questionable after their poor outing. Although Babar has returned to the position of captain, he still has numerous problems. What he has said is that he shall be the sole person to decide on this matter by going through the process with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) alone.
Babar also wanted to make it clear that it was a team effort and that the loss should not be blamed on him alone or the decision-making that led to the loss. Instead, he wanted the team management to review their performance in the tournament before it could determine his fate as captain of the team.

Recalling his revocation, he stated,
“When I resigned from the captaincy [in 2023], I felt that it was high time for me to step down, so I left it and I told everyone. When they offered it to me again, it was PCB’s decision. ” “After going back, we will discuss all the things that took place here. And if ever I step down again, it will be out in a flash.
Babar Azam’s Responsibility and Team Performance

Babar Azam was questioned about whether he took responsibility for the team’s early exit. He responded,
“I told you that we did not lose this because of one particular person. We win and lose as a team. You are pointing out that [I am] the captain, but I cannot play in every player’s place.
There are 11 players, and each of them has a role. That’s why they came here to play in the World Cup. I think we have not been able to play well as a team. We have to settle down and accept that we didn’t play well as a team.”
He continued, “We accept that we didn’t play according to the expectations. The kind of team we had, the experience we had, we haven’t been able to deliver at different times. As a player and as a captain, I am not going to single [anyone] out. The fault lies with all 15. We will sit and review. As a captain, my responsibility is to give my feedback to the decision-makers.”
Assigning Blame On Babar Azam
When asked who should be held responsible—captain, coach, or selectors—Babar Azam reiterated,
“You can’t put the blame on one person. We didn’t play well as a team. We did well in patches. Everybody is disappointed. We are as disappointed as the fans. It is not one individual’s fault.”
The future of Babar Azam’s captaincy remains in the balance as the PCB and team management prepare for an in-depth review of the team’s performance.
