Steve Garcia’s Last Fight

In his first fight of 2024, Garcia will look to extend his current three-fight win streak that has seen him go undefeated since dropping back down to featherweight in 2022. The 32-year-old’s most recent win over Melquizael Costa was arguably his most impressive to date after having to re-book the fight a week after its originally scheduled date due to an illness.

With an 8-2 record in his last 10 fights, Garcia has quickly become a fan favorite due to his action-packed fight style After beginning his UFC career at 1-2 at lightweight, the ‘Mean Machine’ has found his niche in the featherweight division with a chance to potentially face a ranked opponent with another impressive win at UFC Vegas 94.

Seung Woo Choi’s Last Fight

Through nine fights, Choi has had an up-and-down UFC career that has seen its highs and lows in the last five years. The Korean began his promotional run at 0-2 with losses to Gavin Tucker and Movsar Evloev but quickly turned himself around with a three-fight win streak over the next two years. However, Choi would then experience another downturn by losing his three following fights and finding himself clinging onto his roster spot.

In his last performance, Choi snapped his three-fight skid with a win over Jarno Errens at UFC Singapore in August 2023. ‘Sting’ had to overcome adversity in the fight after getting dropped in the second round but recovered by landing his knockdown in the final round and wrestling his way to a unanimous decision victory.

Key Stats

Neither Steve Garcia nor Seung Woo Choi have developed a reputation for being boring but Garcia in particular has truly become an agent of chaos since signing with the UFC. In his six fights with the promotion, the Jackson Wink MMA pupil has not seen a fight enter the third round since his UFC debut loss to Luis Peña.

Since the fight with Peña, none of Garcia’s fights have given fans a moment to blink with 10 combined knockdowns. Choi’s recent have been nearly equally as wild with nine combined knockdowns in his last five outings. Neither fighter puts much emphasis on their defensive mechanics with both owning under a 50 percent striking defense.

Fans should not expect much grappling in this fight either with neither man ever winning a fight in their professional career by submission.
