One of the most-used clichés in MMA is “not to let the fight go to the judges” and UFC lightweight Jared Gordon has suffered through that lesson in real time. After not losing a decision in the first 24 fights of his career, ‘Flash’ has debatably lost his last two 15-minute fights.
After losing to Nasrat Haqparast at UFC Saudi Arabia, Gordon’s record dropped to 20-7 with one no-contest. However, many felt that he did enough to earn a decision victory, much like the reaction to his loss to Paddy Pimblett in 2022. Having dealt with frustrating results in recent years, Gordon offered his exasperated thoughts on social media.
UFC Lightweight Jared Gordon Gives His Thoughts on Recent Fight Results
I should be 8-2 in my last 10, on a 5 fight unbeaten streak and ranked. Guess Ill just have to keep showing them…

Following his second controversial decision loss in his last four fights, UFC lightweight Jared Gordon aired out his frustration on X. After three rounds with Nasrat Haqparast, Gordon lost the split decision at UFC Saudi Arabia.
Gordon tweeted:
I should be 8-2 in my last 10, on a five-fight unbeaten streak and ranked. Guess I’ll just have to keep showing them…
In his last 10 fights, Gordon owns an official record of 5-4 with one no-contest. In two of his defeats — decision losses to Paddy Pimblett and Haqparast — many fans and analysts felt he should have won. The no-contest on Gordon’s record was the result of an accidental headbutt he took from Bobby Green that led to the end of the fight.
Jared Gordon’s Controversial Defeats
In 2022, Jared Gordon received the biggest fight contract of his life when he signed to face English star Paddy Pimblett in the co-main event of UFC 282. The fight was highly competitive, but many felt that Gordon out-worked ‘The Baddy’ enough to hand him his first UFC loss. However, it would be Pimblett who won the unanimous decision, much to the chagrin of most fans.
In defeat, Gordon received a lot of favor amongst fans who sided with the 11-year veteran. Following a bizarre no-contest with Bobby Green, Gordon gained even more momentum with a knockout win over Mark O. Madsen at UFC 295.
However, in his most recent outing, Gordon’s fortune ran out as he went back to being on the losing end of a close fight that went to the scorecards. In both of his last two decision losses, the UFC lightweight was slightly out-landed by Haqparast and Pimblett but appeared to land the more damaging strikes while being the fighter pressuring forward.
Jared Gordon “Doesn’t Know What to Do”
As the lead play-by-play commentator for the UFC, Jon Anik told Kenny Florian and Ray Longo on the Anik and Florian Podcast that he reached out to Jared Gordon after his defeat to Nasrat Haqparast. Anik revealed the cliff notes of his conversation with Gordon, noting that the UFC lightweight told him that he “doesn’t know what to do.”
Anik said:
I [spoke with Jared Gordon] extensively over text message after the [fight with Nasrat Haqparast]. The conversation sort of ended, Ray, with him saying: ‘I don’t know what to do, man.’… It’s like when it rains, it f****** pours for Jared Gordon. I don’t know what the kid has to do. I might have to send him a bonus.
All three experts on the show agreed in unison that they believed Gordon won the fight. Though Anik is the only UFC employee in the group, Longo is the head coach of the Longo and Weidman MMA Team, which has produced countless fighters in the Octagon. Florian is a retired fighter himself, previously challenging for the UFC title on three separate occasions.
