In his third fight in enemy territory in his last four appearances, Caolan Loughran will enter hostile territory in Manchester when he takes on Jake Hadley at UFC 304.
Loughran, a former Cage Warriors champion, is not a stranger to fighting in Europe. However, despite being the betting favorite he will have to fight against the crowd with Hadley being a local fan favorite from Sandwell, England.

Caolan Loughran’s Last Fight
After initially signing with the promotion as an undefeated prospect, Loughran had the unfortunate task of making his debut in Paris against local French fighter Taylor Lapilus on short notice. Loughran fared well in the fight by utilizing his wrestling but ultimately suffered the first loss of his career.
His second fight could not have gone much better with Loughran downright dominating Angel Pacheco in his most recent outing. Across 15 minutes, ‘The Don’ landed 140 significant strikes while also landing three takedowns for nearly five minutes of control time.
In the limited impression he has left on the UFC stage, Loughran has developed a reputation for being an acquired taste due to his brash personality. The 28-year-old called for a fight with rising prospects Raul Rosas Jr. and Payton Talbott but instead was booked against Ramon Taveras at UFC 304 before his opponent was replaced by Jake Hadley on one weeks’ notice.
Jake Hadley’s Last Fight
With a 2-3 record in the promotion, Hadley has had a unique career in the UFC that began with him receiving a reluctant contract from the front office on Dana White’s Contender Series. Hadley began his career off with a loss but won his next two inside the distance before stumbling again and finding himself on the first losing streak of his career. In his last performance, the 27-year-old lost to veteran Charles Johnson in St. Louis.
For the first time in his UFC career, Hadley will enter the fight with Loughran as an underdog. ‘The White Kong’ will compete at bantamweight for the first time in his career following seven years as a flyweight. Overall, Hadley has never been an underdog in his 13-fight career but has tended to fall short of expectations in the UFC.
Weight Miss
Despite moving up a division to bantamweight after 13 fights in the flyweight division, Jake Hadley was the only fighter to miss weight at UFC 304. Regardless of the weight miss, Caolan Loughran accepted the matchup with Hadley to forfeit 30 percent of his purse to the Irishman.
Hadley has missed weight once before in his career in his fight with Mitch Raposo on Dana White’s Contender Series. His unprofessional weight miss along with reportedly mistreating UFC staff caused Hunter Campbell, Mick Maynard, and Sean Shelby to request that White not extend him a contract despite beating Raposo by submission. White gave Hadley a contract regardless, telling reporters after the event that Maynard and Shelby “stormed off” after hearing the announcement.
