Tyreek Hill Makes SHOCKING Comments About Future with Miami Dolphins

Tyreek Hill of the Dolphins

Tyreek Hill may have just played his final game with the Miami Dolphins. Minutes following the Week 18 32-20 road loss to the New York Jets, Hill questioned his future with the team. The Dolphins were eliminated from playoff contention during the game as the Denver Broncos were able to clinch the seventh and final seed in the AFC Playoff picture and the frustrations of everything he was dealing with boiled over. Let’s take a look at his comments and what this could mean for the Miami Dolphins and Tyreek Hill going forward.

Following the game between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill was frustrated with his usage and announced that he is open to leaving the team during the offseason. This is the first year that Hill has not made the postseason and the first time since 2019 that he did not reach the 1,000-yard mark.

“This is the first time I haven’t been in the playoffs. For me, I have to do what’s best for me and my family if that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out. It was great playing here.” h/t Miami Herald

During that same media session, the star wide receiver said that he was told “right before a drive” that he was not going to be playing in the fourth quarter. Hill finished the game with just two catches for 20 yards with the New York Jets being without Sauce Gardner. Coach Mike McDaniel refused to comment about Hill’s statements and is waiting to talk about things with him later this week.

“I’m not going to be too much weight on second hand postgame disappointment statements. We will see how the next couple days progress in convos with him and I.”

Tyreek Hill currently has a $27.7 million cap hit if he is traded in 2025 but that money could differ depending on when he is traded. If it is a pre-June 1 trade, the cap hit would rise to $28.3 million but if it is after June 1, it would drop to $12.7 million. He just concluded his first season of a three-year, $90 million extension and it would be interesting to see what the 30-year-old wide receiver can get in a trade.

What team makes the most sense for Tyreek Hill?

Tyreek Hill has not been very secretive in letting the world know what team he prefers to go to: the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent the first six seasons of his career with Patrick Mahomes and the organization and had three AP First-Team finishes and six Pro Bowls as he became a legitimate threat as a wide receiver. After having his worst statistical season as a starter, Hill is going to be eyeing a reunion with the team attempting to win three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.

If the two teams can agree to a trade, it will be interesting but the Chiefs had not had issues trading away talent as they traded away Hill and L’Jarius Sneed during their run to championships instead of paying them massive contracts.
