Now he’s looking forward to fighting the greatest of all time, who hasn’t lost a single fight, Jon Jones. Aspinall has been calling out Bones the Jones for a long time, but they haven’t been locked in the Octagon until now. Jones is now going to fight the two-time champion, Stipe Miocic.
Legacy of Jon Jones
Jon Jones is among the most popular and prominent fighters in MMA, especially in the heavyweight division. One of the biggest reasons is because he has one of the most impressive records in the sport. Recently UFC’s CEO Dana White went further to label Jones as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the history of MMA. Jones was already the pound-for-pound champion, but other officials decided to give this title to Islam Makhachev. Aspinall also does not support the idea of White that Jones that Bones is the best champion of all time.
Aspinall’s Reaction on YouTube Channel
Aspinall, who has been looking forward to fighting Jones, wasn’t happy with what White said. After defending his title against Curtis Blaydes, the British fighter shared his frustration on his YouTube channel. Aspinall openly criticized what he feels is White’s favoritism toward Jones, and he made it clear that he thought his accomplishments deserved more attention.
Aspinall is more anxious to fight the Champion because he has been expecting a fight against Jones for the last few months. However, since UFC has scheduled Jones a fight with Miocic, for November, Aspinall’s chances at an immediate fight have been thrown to the side.
Dana White’s Suggestion to Jon Jones
White plans to schedule Jones against Aspinall, but he first wants Miocic to fight Jones. White recently suggested that before Jones retires, he could fight the groomed prospect, Aspinall. In an interview discussing the prospects for the future of the heavyweight division, White gave statements that created the framework of one of the most hotly anticipated battles in the UFC in recent memory. “I don’t know what Jones will do after this fight, but I would be shocked if he didn’t want to test himself against Aspinall.”
