The Toronto Six, a defunct Premier Hockey Federation team, was honored Thursday night. The members of the 2023 Six were celebrated with both players and staff members present at the Weston Golf & Country Club in Etobicoke, Ontario. It was a final farewell to the successful team and their three years of hockey.

Toronto Six may since be dissolved, but the accomplishments are still worth celebrating. Thursday, February 22, the 17 members of the 2023 Six reunited to receive a championship ring each. Canadian hockey player and Hall of Famer Angela James was also there to give them each a hug, having been both the general manager and co-owner of the Toronto Six.
Former Toronto Six Forward Emma Woods, who now plays for PWHL New York, was one of the players rewarded with a ring. She said: “It’s a bittersweet moment, I think for all of us. I’m fortunate to be in the PWHL, but something like that doesn’t exist without what comes before us. This ring is a symbol of what came before that.”
A large portion of the celebration was not just with former players, but also with other big names in
female hockey. Angela James was there, along with her fellow former co-owner Johanna Boynton, PWHL Toronto general manager Gina Kingsbury, Hall of Famer Danielle Goyette, and Six’s former president Sami Jo Small.
The Isobel Cup itself was also present at the ceremony. Every single name of the player and staff was engraved on the Cup to honor the last team to win it. The trophy, available for photo-ops during the event, will be put in the
Hockey Hall of Fame following the party.
Boyton said, “This was a professional league, and the Toronto Six will forever be known as the last champions.”
