It’s Game 5 at the TD Garden and this could be the final postseason game for the 2023-24 NBA Season. Game 4 wasn’t the Boston Celtics throughout this NBA Finals.
The Celtics missed shots, got more turnovers, and lost with a 38-point margin. This is the third most-point margin loss in the history of the NBA. Imagine scoring just 14 points in the second quarter of a game.
Well, all I see here is a tactical loss to win at TD Garden. Thus, what should we expect in Game 5 finals?
Why The Dallas Mavericks Team Could Win Game 5
In reference to Game 4 and their experience throughout the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks could win this Game. The Dallas Mavericks have three games to go and judging from how they played in Game 4 there could be a Mavericks in 7.
It seemed the Dallas Mavericks had woken up from their slumber to discover that they were in the NBA finals. However, it’s too late as they are 1-for-4 in this series.
Now factoring in Game 4’s performance, the Mavericks finally gave us the competitive game we desired as most of the players put their all in the Game’s playbook.
Tim Hardaway Jr. came off the bench to shoot five three-pointers. Dereck Lively II bagged a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds with his first 3-point shot as a Center rookie to add to his points.
The focus wasn’t placed on just Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic as the All-Star Duos of the Dallas Mavericks. This shows that Jason Kidd might be close to uncovering Joe Muzzulla’s playbook. Muzzulla also gave accolades to the Dallas Mavericks for displaying such a balanced performance to win their first game.
Why the Dallas Mavericks Team Could Lose Game 5
In the history of the NBA, no team has come back from a deficit of three defeats in a playoff series. Also, the Boston Celtics’ home advantage is another factor.
The Mavericks lost their first two games at the TD Garden which broke their losing streak. Though Luka Doncic had an excellent game as he recorded 30+ points, Kyrie Irving wasn’t in his bag yet for the first two games.
The TD Garden advantage is very powerful and it complements the Celtic team’s performance. Another factor is body language.
Body language involves complaining about the referee’s decision or interacting with fans of the opposing team. In a nutshell, if the player isn’t focused on the game, it could cost the team’s performance. This is what happened in Game 3 with Luka Doncic.
However, Game 5 could be more competitive and it could be boring too.

Why The Boston Celtics Team Could Win Game 5
It’s simple. The Boston Celtics are 3-for-4 in this 2023-24 best-of-seven series. As said earlier the Boston Celtics’ performance in Game 4 could be a tactical loss as the Celtics Teams of past years have had similar performance.
The Celtics only needed one game to become the next defending champions. Therefore, Game 4 was meant to be a clean sweep of the Dallas Mavericks, but the team underperformed.
Now that Game 5 is in TD Garden, it could be easier for the Celtics to beat the Mavericks since they did it in games one and two. Their performance in the NBA finals has been top-notch with each game having its dynamic top performer.
The Celtics are not star-dependent like the Mavericks. They could win Game 3 without their top rim protector, Kristaps Porzingis. Therefore, Game 5 should be a breeze for the Celtics.

Why The Boston Celtics Team Could Lose Game 5
The probability of the Celtics losing this fifth game is very slim. They are three games up and one game to go; they have the home advantage. What else could make them lose?
If the Celtics repeat their Game 4 performance in Game 5, then that’s the only way they could lose. They’ve used their home advantage well and taken on the Mavericks home advantage. Also, they play more like a team.
This final game could be interesting and more competitive. The Mavericks are hustlers and might not go down without a fight.
