On the June 28th, 2024 Madison Square Garden edition of Friday Night Smackdown, the main event segment saw Paul Heyman viciously laid out by The Bloodline in an attack that could change the entire landscape of the WWE.
In recent weeks, Paul Heyman has been very clear with his stance on the new Bloodline. He has constantly let Solo Sikoa know that Roman Reigns wouldn’t approve of what he has been doing since WrestleMania 40 and that he should follow the orders of The Tribal Chief.
However, Heyman was then informed by Sikoa that there was a new permanent Tribal Chief and that Roman Reigns wouldn’t be coming back. The aftermath of this conversation took place on last night’s Smackdown.
Solo Sikoa Lies To Paul Heyman
Friday Night Smackdown started with a brawl between the newly formed Bloodline and the trio of Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens. This brawl resulted in the three wrestlers being forced to leave the arena by The NYPD, as Smackdown GM Nick Aldis didn’t want them to interfere in the upcoming Bloodline Acknowledgment Ceremony which was set to happen in the main event.
However, before the segment started, The Bloodline was seen leaving the parking lot and entering the backstage area. Paul Heyman asked Solo Sikoa where Jacob Fatu was, as Solo was only accompanied by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Solo then informed Paul that he took his advice and that Jacob wouldn’t be on Smackdown because of how dangerous he was.
This ended up being another lie that Solo Sikoa had told Paul Heyman, as in the main event segment, it was announced by Solo that Jacob Fatu was in the building and that he is the newest member of The Bloodline.
Paul Heyman Refuses to Acknowledge The Tribal Chief
The main event of Friday Night Smackdown was The Bloodline Acknowledgment Ceremony. However, before the ceremony started, Solo Sikoa introduced MSG and the entire WWE audience to the newest member of The Bloodline, Jacob Fatu, who made his debut last week to the shock of Paul Heyman.
Every member of the newly formed faction was supposed to acknowledge The Tribal Chief Solo Sikoa. Tama Tonga was the first one to do so and was followed by his brother Tonga Loa. Then, Jacob Fatu acknowledged Solo Sikoa as well, leaving just Paul Heyman left. When Solo Sikoa gave Heyman the mic, he told Solo that he loved him, but then said “You are not my Tribal Chief.”
This resulted in an enraged Solo attacking Paul Heyman, by hitting him with a Samoan Spike. The Bloodline then dragged Heyman to the outside and cleared out the announce table. Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa picked up The Wiseman and hit him with a triple powerbomb onto the desk, similar to how Roman Reigns and The Shield did.
Paul Heyman’s Time With The Bloodline and Roman Reigns
This segment very certainly ended Paul Heyman’s time with The Bloodline, something that many fans never expected to see. Heyman was the most tenured Bloodline member alongside Roman Reigns when they formed the faction with The Usos on July 9th, 2021.
However, Paul’s time with Roman dates back to SummerSlam 2020, as he seemingly convinced Reigns to change himself and become more fierce to prove his dominance. This new attitude led to a world championship reign of 1,316 days, and Paul Heyman was by Roman’s side for every second of it.
Heyman served as The Wiseman to The Bloodline for nearly 3 years, and will certainly go down as the greatest manager in WWE history. With Paul Heyman not acknowledging Solo Sikoa, it seems that he will play a pivotal role in Roman Reigns’ return, something that is bound to happen very soon.
