Texas Rangers Season Summary
It has been a disappointing first third of the regular season for the defending World Series champions. They are 25-29 this season and are three games back of the Seattle Mariners for first place in the American League West and four games back of the third and final American League Wild Card spot. The Texas Rangers have had a middling offense so far this season. They are 12th in runs scored, 11th in home runs, and 15th in batting average.
The Texas Rangers offense is led by Right Fielder Adolis Garcia who is 11th in the league with 12 home runs and top 10 in RBI with 37.
Their pitching staff has also been average this season. They are 19th in ERA, 14th in home runs allowed, and ninth in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Jon Gray is ninth in all of baseball with an ERA of 2.21. Relief Pitcher David Robertson is tied for seventh with 11 holds.
The Texas Rangers have been set back by a terrible month of May. They have gone 9-15 this month and had separate losing streaks lasting five and six games.
Rangers Upcoming Schedule
The Texas Rangers have an off-day on Monday before hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks for a rematch of the 2023 World Series. Texas ended up winning the 2023 World Series in five games and outscored Arizona by only four runs in the “Fall Classic” 26-22.
Texas needs to find its footing over the remainder of the regular season and must focus on making the 2024 MLB Playoffs so they can defend their championship.
