Tennessee Titans Sign Former All-Pro Safety To 1-Year Deal

The Tennessee Titans have been busy this offseason. While many are not predicting them to be competitive this season, the team has signed many free agents. The hope is if they surround their young quarterback, Will Levis, with good pieces, they can determine if he is the quarterback of the future. Tennessee signed another big-name free agent today, adding former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams.

Jamal Adams was released by the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the offseason. There were rumors he would re-sign with the team, but apparently, they could not come to a deal. The Tennessee Titans currently have Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden on the roster at safety after trading Kevin Byard last season. Adams is expected to come in and compete for a starting spot.

Adams has had a slightly disappointing career due to injuries. The Seahawks traded multiple first-round picks to the New York Jets for the safety, but season-ending injuries have kept him out of the lineup. In his four years with the Seahawks, Jamal Adams missed 33 of a possible 67 games. No matter how good a player is, only having them on the field half the time is not great.

2024 Outlook

The Tennessee Titans have had a quality offseason. They drafted one of the top offensive linemen in the class in JC Latham. The plan is to put him next to Peter Skoronski and solidify the left side of their line. DeAndre Hopkins is still with the team they added Calvin Ridley to bolster the pass catchers. Tony Pollard came over from the Cowboys and Mason Rudolph provides another veteran backup for Levis. With all the quality signings, many wonder whether they could make some noise in the AFC South.

Ultimately, this season is all about seeing what they have in Will Levis. They are giving him every chance to show he can lead an NFL team. If he is able to succeed, the Tennessee Titans can look to fil out the roster in other places. If not, the Titans may be looking to see whether they can draft another quarterback in next year’s draft.
