SmackDown Preview: WWE Intrigue and Intensity | 09/26/2024

Smackdown preview

SmackDown is scheduled to be broadcast live from Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center on Friday. Bad Blood, WWE’s super hyped PLE, is looming around the corner and this episode should further the storylines heading into Atlanta. The intensity of the stories has increased with every episode of both Raw and Smackdown, as of late, but what can WWE do to further the intrigue? We will see at 8 PM ET on Friday, on the USA Network.

SmackDown Features Women’s Number One Contender Match

In a confusing finish to last week’s tornado tag team match between Naomi and Bayler versus Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton, both Naomi and Bayley pinned Nia Jax for the win. The stipulation was that whoever won the pinfall would be the number one contender to Jax at Bad Blood for the WWE Women’s Championship. Nick Aldis then had to rule that Naomi versus Bayley would be required to determine the true number one contender, and we will get that match on this week’s episode. WWE has built Naomi up to Bayley’s level, and the two are evenly matched.

Andrade and Carmelo Hayes One More Time

Andrade was the victor the last time that these two met in the ring, in a five-star ultimate rubber match of the five-match series. It appears, however, that the series is not over and Andrade and Hayes will mix it up one more time. Hayes antagonized Andrade after Andrade’s loss to LA Knight in a bid for the United States Championship last week. That backstage mini-brawl has led to this bout. The WWE fandom wants more.  Even though they have battled several times, we cannot get enough and hopefully, we see another five-star match.

What is Next for WWE’s Tag Team Champions?

WWE’s Tag Team Champions, The Bloodline, have mixed it up heavily with multiple opponents in the past several weeks. They have not only battled DIY and The Street Profits but also attacked Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. They have made enemies out of the entire WWE!

The tag champs will need to put the titles on the line again eventually. Will the next time be different now that DIY and The Street Profits are combining forces and playing the same numbers game that The Bloodline employs? It is hard to say they are dominant tag team champions with the constant interference and cheating. Their enemies, however, are changing strategies and each title defense will increase in difficulty for Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga.

Predictions

Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade Part 6: Predicting another five-star match is not asking for too much, is it? Will we see a match on par with their last few bouts or will we see one even better? Hayes and Andrade will give us another classic in this one. Hayes will come out on top! What could be more intriguing than the seventh bout in a best-of-seven series at Bad Blood?

Bayley vs Naomi #1 Contender’s Match: Naomi has been building momentum, recently, and is on a trajectory that is leading toward the WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley, the former champion before being dethroned by Nia Jax, remains one of WWE’s top contenders at all times. Neither will win, however, as this match has too much appeal for both Jax and Tiffany Stratton to attack and disrupt the finish. Look for a triple threat at Bad Blood.
