Oli McBurnie isn’t the name you would think of when it comes to last-minute golazos. In this case, the heroics from Oli helped Sheffield United rescue a much-needed point against the Blues this week. Chelsea FC hoped to claim three points to keep them mid-table in the Premier League. But, a last-minute, stoppage-time goal from Sheffield United continue the team’s fine run in form.

The game started out in what looked like would be a Chelsea win. Thiago Silva, the commanding veteran center back for the Blues, scored early off of a corner. Sheffield United came out looking flat and on the back foot, a sure sign that Chelsea would continue to score – especially with Cole Palmer playing the way he has been.
However, Jayden Bogle equalized for Sheffield United just 30 minutes later after an error from Dorde Petrovic. After watching the game, both Chelsea and Sheffield fans can say that the latter deserved more than a point for their heroic display. Despite being at the bottom of the table, they outplayed the Blues and had tons of scoring opportunities.
This latest draw means they still have to climb their way out of the relegation zone. Sheffield United need to win a few of their next matches to start to build back the nine points they have clear of safety.
On the other hand, Chelsea FC had short-lived happiness after Palmer’s amazing display at Stamford Bridge last week. Two wins will see them leapfrog into sixth place, if things go their way.
Player Ratings in Sheffield United vs. Chelsea FC
Every player on the pitch put out a solid performance this match, with no one player stepping up to claim the victory for either side.
A few Chelsea players who performed at a subpar level included Petrovic (due to the costly goal mistake) and Cucurella. Plus, Palmer didn’t have his usual brilliance, and Jackson struggled to keep his possession.
For the Blades, McBurnie was by far their best player. He even set up a goal for Diaz off of a Thiago mistake, but the attacker failed to give the Blades a lead.
We wish the subs who came on, including McAtee and Souza, gave Sheffield a much-needed boost to get the final goal before injury time was up.
The Premier League relegation battle and title race is heating up.
