After going viral over a tweet relating to WWE, the famous rapper Sexxy Red made a major appearance on WWE NXT. The St. Louis rapper has become one of the hottest acts in hip-hop with her unapologetic personality, which would make her a great fit for the squared circle. Many people on social media wanted to see her make an appearance on the NXT show and she had a memorable appearance on the show.
Sexxy Red Kicks Off NXT With A Bang
The charismatic rapper was brought out to the ring by NXT’s general manager, Ava. The NXT crowd filled the arena with “Get it, Sexxy” chants as she did a bit of dancing. Ava welcomed Red to the arena and had her unveil the new Women’s North American Championship to the crowd. Booker T couldn’t even contain himself with how excited he was to see Sexxy Red at NXT.
It was also announced that Sexxy Red will be the host of the NXT Battleground Premium-Live-Event, which takes place on June 9th. It may not be the first time that a WWE show has been hosted by a celebrity, but NXT Battleground will be the first Premium-Live-Event held at the UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas.
After Sexxy Red unveiled the new title and danced with the belt, Tatum Paxley snuck into the ring to try to take the belt. It resulted in Paxley and Red playing tug of war with the belt before Michin stormed the ring to fight Paxley.
She was involved in a backstage segment with NXT Champion Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans. Sexxy Red was in their corner for the main event.

The unique presence of Sexxy Red in the WWE Universe can help the brand garner more eyes. WWE has leveled up in the past few years with several artists leaving their mark by wrestling or through memorable promos. Bad Bunny might be one of the best, if not the best, celebrity wrestlers of all time. Wale moderated a rap battle between The New Day and The Usos years ago.
There will always be an everlasting relationship between hip-hop in wrestling. I once wrote an article about it as a commonality between those two realms is how people can live vicariously through the characters in rap and wrestling.
Her appearance on NXT alone helps garner more eyes to the product, as she had a fantastic time in the ring. Plus, with hosting the historic NXT Battleground PLE on June 9th, who knows what fans could expect from her in a larger venue compared to the performance center that holds NXT.

Maybe we can see her perform for the NXT champion Trick Williams during his entrance to the ring. She could play a part in one of the women’s matches. Sexxy Red had NXT as the number one trending topic on the X platform throughout the night. The possibilities are truly endless with how Red and WWE go about her time as host for the historic PLE event.
