Babar Azam's Goal: Bringing T20 World Cup Home to Pakistan

With the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh scheduled for August in Rawalpindi, the white-ball skipper Babar Azam is nowadays working out regularly in the gym. This Test series is a part of Pakistan’s WTC 2023–25 cycle, and a victory in this series would put them in a strong position for the WTC final qualification.

After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will be hosting the English team for three test matches, and therefore, Babar Azam’s fitness training is more important.

After the series against Bangladesh, Pakistan will be hosting the English side for a three-match test series, and as we know, test cricket requires the player to be in top physical form.

Babar Azam understands the much-taped-up itinerary that awaits the cricket team and therefore has already started involving himself in conditioning. In the video that he posts on his social media accounts, showing a glimpse of his exercise routine, Babar Azam dances to some of his musical workouts to ensure that he keeps fit.

This is proactive talk, which points to his desire to be in great shape for the tough competition not only in the current edition of Internationals but also in future ones as well.

Pakistan’s 2024–25 International Cricket Schedule

On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the coming men’s international cricket calendar for the 2024–25 season. The home summer starts with a Test series against Bangladesh to be played in Rawalpindi from August 21–25 and in Karachi from August 30–September 3.

Following the Bangladesh series, it will be England’s turn to visit Pakistan for a three-Test affair. The matches are planned for Multan (7–11 October), Karachi (15–19 October), and Rawalpindi (24–28 October). After England’s tour, the West Indies will be coming to Pakistan for two test series in January 2025: Karachi on January 16–20 and Multan on January 24-28.
