As we approach UFC 306, the pre-fight press conference between Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili, gave the two fighters another opportunity to engage in verbal sparring. There has been animosity between the two fighters in the build-up to their fight. But the pair kept things lighthearted as both engaged in a war of words just days before the title fight. The bantamweight title fight hangs in the balance and the pre-fight trash talk between O’Malley and Dvalishvili has fans even more excited for the fight.
Tension Builds Leading to the Bantamweight Showdown
In the run-up to their tussle over the title, a lot of banter has been exchanged between Sean O’Malley (18-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC), the holder of the title, and Merab Dvalishvili (17-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) the contender. But, for some reason, neither of these fighters has allowed things to come to a head and fighting with their hands.
Thursday’s press conference was held in the parking lot of the Sphere where Saturday’s pay-per-view event is expected to be conducted, the two fighters had their say. In the bitter manner in which both fighters went at each other, they still maintained a playful tone in their digs.
During one of the press scrums, the reporter quizzed Sean O’Malley about whether he wanted to punch Gervonta Davis which may make another addition to the event. His answer led to a new round between him and Dvalishvili.
Dvalishvili Fires Back
Dvalishvili wasn’t going to let that knockout comment go unchallenged. He said;
Keep dreaming, keep dreaming, Dvalishvili fired back. Nobody’s knocked me out yet. Nobody. Keep dreaming, Sean O’Malley. You didn’t knock out ‘Chito’ Vera.
Sean O’Malley, who often praises Dvalishvili was not going to allow his opponent to forget his recent loss to the challenger’s teammate. Aljamain Sterling in their bantamweight title fight in UFC 292 in August. Now that both fighters are engaged in high verbal tempers and disputing each other’s capacities, the audience should expect an interesting show in this Saturday’s octagon battle between O’Malley and Dvalishvili.
Final Perspective on Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili
This extent has not stopped the exchange of words between O’Malley and Dvalishvili as the bantamweight title fight has been hyped to be vicious. Despite the varying assessments of their strengths and skills, both fighters remain confident in their abilities. As they prepare to settle their differences in the octagon, fans eagerly await the final chapter in this rivalry. Whether Sean O’Malley’s knockout claims will hold or Dvalishvili’s durability will prove too much. This UFC 306 will be an amazing, intense, tough, and exciting tournament. Fans well so lots of their favorite fighters in action.
