Sean O’Malley will fight Merab Dvalishvili in UFC 306 on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Dvalishvili is training hard to get this title and overcome O’Malley in the upcoming fight. Because of that, he is applying every possible technique and trying every possible training to better himself.
In the middle of his training camp, he received a cut above his eye, which was not a big cut but seemed serious. But things got worse when he uploaded that on social media. The CEO of UFC, Dana White got angry and started to criticize Dvalishvili, who also opened the gates of criticism for O’Malley to trash talk his upcoming opponent.
Sean O’Malley Confident Of Victory
Sean O’Malley is very confident that he will defeat Dvalishvili during UFC’s event in September. He keeps on saying that he enjoys how their plot for the fight is set and how he is going to knock out Dvalishvili. As he believes he has a lot of leverage in it, the cut on Dvalishvili’s face will be one of the places he will target. Sean O’Malley said this in an interview: “I am 100 percent going to open up that cut, whether it’s healed or not.”
Sean O’Malley also trash talked about the nose of Merab Dvalishvili, and how he’s probably going to smash his nose before he opened up that cut on his eye. O’Malley claimed that he never had a serious cut thus he doesn’t know when the injury above Dvalishvili’s eye fully healed, but he confirmed that his target would be to smash the nose of Dvalishvili and then open the cut.
Sean O’Malley explained his dangerous plans in these words: “That’s the left side of his face this right hand doesn’t miss. I’ll probably accidentally hit his nose before I hit that cut, the nose just kind of takes up 85 percent of his face. So I’m going to try and get around his nose to get to that cut.”
Merab Dvalishvili Removing the Stitches
When the first video of Dvalishvili came out of the injury, Dana White called him “stupid” because that might affect the appearance of Dvalishvili in the Octagon and this legendary fight might not happen. So White warned Dvaishvili about the consequences and the possible results of what he was doing.
Things changed when Merab Dvalishvili himself picked up scissors and started to cut his stitches with them and he was successful in doing that. He pulled out each of the stitches carefully with his hand. Dana White was shocked to see that and reacted to that in a press conference, he now believes that Dvalishvili is good to fight the Bantamweight Champion in the UFC 306 main event.
Potential Winner
Sean O’Malley’s style of fighting is the ‘”Striking Style.” He has knocked out a lot of guys but if we look at and analyze the technique of Merab Dvalishvili, he is a beast with grappling. He loves to grapple and if he was able to keep the distance at first and somehow get hold of the champion, it would be hard for O’Malley to get himself free.
