Will the Seahawks have a dynamic trio in 2024? All signs indicate yes. With a new offensive coach with a great record for success and improving team performance, the Seahawks are set to unleash unstoppable plays in 2024. Just how will this all play out?
Who is this dynamic trio?
Geno Smith, a twelve-year veteran and Seahawks QB is excited about the 2024 season and unleashing the plays rolled out under new offensive coach Ryan Grubb. In an interview on the Jim Rome show Smith said, “I’ve seen plays I have never seen before.”
The Huskies under Offensive Coach Grubb’s leadership produced three NFL draft picks. “Rome Odunze, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Jalen McMillan made up the best receiving trio in college football last season.” Here is where that dynamic trio landed. Odunze was drafted by the Chicago Bears, Ja’Lynn Polk was drafted by the New England Patriots, and McMillian drafted by Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Grubb’s is set to create a new 2024 dynamic offensive trio for the Seahawks but we will have to wait to see what Grubb’s has in mind for DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Will Grubb’s do it again and unleash unstoppable plays for the Seahawks veteran wide receivers Metcalf, Lockett, and second season teammate Smith-Njigba? And, don’t forget about the latest WR draft.
Seahawks OC Ryan Grubb’s History Of Success
Ryan Grubb has a history of success in assisting college football. Grubb has been setting records and leading college teams to new heights. Grubb’s gained more attention for his coaching abilities as the Offensive Coordinator for the University of Washington in 2022 to 2023. According the Seahawks website:
“Grubb helped the Huskies back to national prominence in his two seasons on Montlake, helping Washington to the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023, and guiding QB Michael Penix Jr. to two of the most prolific seasons in Huskies history. Grubb was a semifinalist for the Broyles Award, given to the nation’s top assistant coach following the 2023 season.”
The Seahawks hired Grubb’s February 13, 2024 as their new Offensive Coordinator.
Exciting 2024 Outlook for the Seahawks Offense
You will need to scroll down 21 teams on the ESPN list of team stats to find out how the Seahawks offense ranked in 2023. This may seem like quite a challenge for a new Offensive Coordinator to overcome. But Grubb’s is no average OC.
Skilled and confident veteran starting Quarterback Geno Smith said, “I feel like personally, I have a really good grasp of the offense,” Smith said. “I know there’s still things that I have to learn, but from the installs that we’ve done, really sharp with those things.” The outlook is exciting for the Seahawks as Grubbs brings his use of motion to the run play.
