Scottie Scheffler Continues Extremely Hot Start To 2024 Season

Scottie Scheffler continued his red hot season with a win at the 2024 RBC Heritage.

Following a Monday finish due to rain in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on Sunday, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler won the RBC Heritage Open by three strokes. Scheffler has won two consecutive PGA Tour tournaments following winning his second “Green Jacket” at The Masters last week. This was Scottie Scheffler’s 10th career tour victory.

In his post-round press conference earlier today, Scheffler discussed being the first player to follow up a Masters victory with a win the following week since two-time Masters champion Bernard Langer did so in 1985.

“It was part of our plan this week to come here and play…I didn’t show up here just to have some sort of ceremony and everybody tell me congratulations…I came here with a purpose.”

Will Scottie Scheffler be able to continue his historic play whenever he decides to tee it up again?

Scottie Scheffler Career Summary

Scheffler is the first PGA Tour player since Tiger Woods to win in four of his last five starts. In addition to the RBC Heritage Scheffler won at Augusta National, came in second at the Houston Open, and was victorious at both the Players Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational.  The world No. 1 has collected over $16 million in winnings over a red-hot six weeks out on the course.

Before his historic hot streak, Scheffler finished tied for fifth at The Sentry, tied for sixth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and tied for sixth at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He is a two-time winner of the Phoenix Open.

Scheffler Beat Out A Loaded Field At Harbour Town

The RBC Heritage is considered a marquee event that features lucrative purses, limited fields, and no 36-hole cut. This sort of environment led to this year’s tournament having one of the deepest fields in all of golf. Scheffler dominated the field over 72 holes. He finished with a score of -19, four shots ahead of reigning US Open champion Wyndham Clark and five shots clear of two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas.

Scottie Scheffler got off to a slow start on Thursday as he fired a two-under 69 and was 33rd following the opening 18 holes. He made his bones on Friday and Saturday shooting a combined 14-under par over those two rounds. He only had two holes where he shot over par during the entire tournament and had no dropped shots on either Friday Or Saturday.

According to data golf, Scheffler led the field in Strokes Gained Approach (+1.68), Strokes Gained Off the Tee (+1.33), Stokes Gained Tee to Green (+3.07), and Strokes Gained Total (+3.10). Scheffler’s historic season is backed up by statistics as he is first in a variety of the Strokes Gained categories in addition to greens in regulation percentage.

When Will Scottie Scheffler Tee It Up Next?

Scheffler will have a busy few weeks until the next time he is expected to play again. He will become a first-time father as his wife Meredith Scheffler is expecting any day now. He is expected to next play at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Scheffler will head to Kentucky in search of his third career major championship. He will look to keep up his great level of play and rewrite the history books in the process.
