Scotland’s most recent attempt to make it to the next round of a major tournament failed at Euro 2024. They endured a crushing five-goal defeat against Germany, followed by a draw against Switzerland and another loss to Hungary. Steve Clarke’s squad may have fallen short in Germany, but they have achieved the impressive feat of qualifying for consecutive Euros and securing promotion to the elite level of the Nations League. The Scots beat Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland to win their group last time, but they will have to deal with tougher opponents this time around. On Sunday, they will play against Portugal after Poland’s visit.

Poland secured a respectable fourth-place finish in the Euro 2024 tournament. After suffering defeats in their first two matches against the Netherlands and Austria, they managed to put up a strong fight against France in Dortmund. Robert Lewandowski, the all-time top scorer managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against Les Bleus by scoring from the spot. In September 2023, Michal Probierz assumed the position of manager. With an impressive record of six wins out of ten matches, his winning streak came to an end for the first time at the Euros. Despite Poland’s disappointing exit from the Euro 2024, the decision has been made to retain him as the manager, at least for now.
