Reports: Man United Keeping Jadon Sancho As Relations Have Improved

Jadon Sancho was big news when he came from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United, with many touting the young player as a new ‘star boy’ in English football. But, he has failed to impress during his time with the Red Devils, with many saying that he is not cut out for the Premier League and he should consider returning to the Bundesliga.

But, it could come as a surprise that the manager may want Sancho to stay on for next season. Despite the high price tag and lack of consistency in games, Sancho might still be an asset for Manchester United during the 2024-2025 Premier League season. Is ten Hag right? Only time will tell.

Jadon Sancho to Stay at Man United?

Jadon Sancho is ready for a fresh start in Manchester after a forgettable few seasons with the Red Devils and the Merseyside club. He had high hopes when he came back from Germany to his homeland but has failed to impress in dozens of games for his club. Although there was tons of speculation regarding summer transfers for Sancho to leave England, the big news was the long-running fight that was happening simultaneously between the player and manager.

Disagreements Between Sancho and Erik ten Hag

Sancho and Erik ten Hag had a horrible disagreement that saw the player fall way out of favor with the Dutch coach. But, it seems as though the winger has put aside his long-standing feud with the manager in order to have a clean slate and a better start to the Premier League campaign this year.

The 24-year-old is only young, and we need to remember that. Although he has been in the limelight for years, he may not make the best decisions when it comes to reacting to situations on and off the pitch. He saw a tumultuous period at the club that saw him go to Dortmund in the Bundesliga for the second half of the season after a huge fight with the gaffer.

He was excluded from the first team late last year, which prompted the last-minute move out of the country to go on loan and get more minutes under a manager who was not ten Hag. The United manager claimed that Sancho was not performing at training or in games, which is why he left him off of the squad list. Of course, Sancho denied the claims and said that the manager was lying. He took to social media to complain about the issues. This only made matters worse and further widened the rift between the coaching staff and the winger who had yet to see consistent game time for the Manchester side or England national team.

Now, ten Hag seems to have also put the past behind him and is looking forward to the new season when his squad can break back into the top five and show what they are made of.

“As we said, we draw the line. Manchester United needs good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on,” Ten Hag remarked, signaling a fresh chapter for the winger.

Last season, Sancho made 14 appearances for the Bundesliga side and scored two goals. For United, he made only three appearances and scored zero goals. In the previous two years, he had been a consistent player but has yet to find his goal-scoring form.
