San Francisco Giants Starting Pitcher Blake Snell has been on a historic pace over his last seven starts. Snell has allowed a mind-blowing .097 opposing batting average over his last seven appearances. He has the fourth-lowest opposing batting average in a seven start span in league history. He trails only Shohei Ohtani, Jacob deGrom, and Johan Santana. Snell is 2-3 this season with a 3.91 ERA. Snell’s streak began on July 9 against the Toronto Blue Jays and included starts against the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and Atlanta Braves.
Snell had a memorable night on August 2 when he tossed a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds. Snell was locked in a pitcher’s duel last night against the Atlanta Braves as he tossed 6.1 scoreless innings while punching out 11. He has 10+ strikeouts in three of his last four starts. Snell’s great stretch has coincided with wins on the diamond as the San Francisco Giants are 5-2 over his last seven starts. Will Snell be able to continue pitching at such a high level?
