Sanju Samson, an AMAZING but HIGHLY UNDERRATED wicketkeeper-batter, has only played in 16 ODIs and 25 T20Is despite his great performance in the IPL.
While leading his team in the IPL, he was also thinking about the upcoming World Cup selections. Samson said he has come “MOST PREPARED” for it.
As the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, he had another fantastic IPL season, scoring 531 runs, including five half-centuries. Finally, he got the recognition he deserved and was selected for the 15-member India squad for the T20 World Cup in the US and West Indies.
Sanju Samson’s Preparation for the World Cup
India’s first match against Ireland is scheduled for Wednesday. Before his T20 World Cup debut, Samson stated, “Ten years of numerous failures and a few little achievements. Life in cricket taught me all I needed to know before we arrived at this vital competition.”
“I believe the IPL consumed all of my thoughts. There was a lot to accomplish and think about as the captain of the team. I believe my mind was always engaged, but the 2024 World Cup choices were always in the back of my mind. The 29-year-old stated that being called up to represent his country in the World Cup felt like a dream come true.
“I knew I’d had a relatively decent season in the IPL, and I still had a shot. But, at the same time, I realized how difficult it was. It might be either or both sides, depending on what the team wants, the exact mix that our team management or selectors are searching for,”
“So the minute I was sure that ‘Sanju you are ready’, I believe life and cricket returned it to me. That’s how I prefer to look at things. So, it was a wonderful time.”

Samson stated that his career successes and failures have taught him always to see the bright side of things.
“I always look at things positively; even if you fail or have a setback, you can learn from it. When you are young and successful, you often avoid a few lessons.
“I believe I’ve been gifted with incredible batting abilities, which come quite effortlessly to me; I don’t do anything special, but I’m not sure how it happens.”It just comes.” Samson added that as soon as he got to New York, he put the IPL out of his mind and focused on the present moment.
“Right from the minute I got here, the IPL has been completely off, and it’s been a whole other stage, and I keep reminding myself, ‘Samson, you’re someplace else. I believe that many individuals dream about it and then say, “OK, boss, what else do I need to do?”
“I didn’t have to encourage myself; it was as if things were destined to happen and they did, and when you’re in that environment and meet Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli, you look at them and become motivated. Then you get motivated, and there is no going back. You’re simply staring in front. “How can Sanju Samson make the team win more matches?” he added.
